I dont understand, how do people have iron, diamond etc?
I looked at the vote trades and i didn't see anything that would allow you to get iron/diamonds

 

Assuming you're talking about .net, there is a random chance when you vote that you'll receive extra grass, iron, diamonds, or other items. If you're super lucky, you may even receive donor status

An alternative way to get these resources is by donating to the server in return for a rank that comes with extra permissions and kits that contain said items. You can donate here: Skyblock | Welcome

Or you can also trade with other players. For example, most people will pay several iron for a stack of wood logs, and several diamonds for a chest full. Or people will generally pay around 1 diamond for a doublechest of Cobblestone, and 1-2 diamonds for a doublechest of Smoothstone.
