Help With Optifine?

So basically, I'm trying to download optifine but it does not work. I have Java installed and its working correctly but whenever I download the optifine file it puts it into a WinRAR format? Is there any way to download optifine with WinRAR? if so, please help me xD

You just already have Winrar on your computer and that associated all future JAR files downloaded to be opened defaultly with winrar. Go to the file location in your downloads, right click on the file and select open with Java launcher. The little coffee symbol. If that's not an option you need to go to the Java website and download the latest version. If you're still having issues just comment down below, but this should work.

 

Ok, so I got optifine installed onto my computer, how do I set it to work on the actul game now?

Put the folder in the game versions folder under .minecraft on your computer I believe

Yep, and that's not how you install it xD, well that's the really complicated way.
