Head question

    Awhile ago, I made a trade for a Santa Head. It was unplaced. When I hovered my mouse over it, it said something like "Skyblock's Santa Head". Now when I hover over it, it says "Head".

    Is this because we're gearing up for 1.8?

    It looks like a Steve when it's in the chest, when I hold it and when I press /hat with it. It used to look Santa-like.

    I'm not planning to trade this head. But if I were, how would someone know it's a Santa head?

    I think this is to do with versions.
    On 1.7.2 until 1.7.5 all heads look like steves and are named head. On 1.7.9 and above they have names and do not look like steves. On 1.8 you can actually see a little 3d image of the head.
