Greenies... The whole term is reffered to people that don't have a rank, usually non-donators. But what makes them such outcasts? I'm not sure if all of you were greenies, but my guess is that at least for a bit. How did it make you feel? All of us know that being a greenie isn't an easy life on skyblock (.NET). And greenie get neglected just because they don't have money? This smells with some unfairness doesn't it. Back in the day when donor ranks haven't existed & everyone was equal (well except staff) there were no problems caused, less segregation took place. And why's that? Well we express this simply, when everyone is equal there is no jealousy, well...at least jealousy is minimized. Let's take a situation from the point of view of a staff member. Imagine there is a conflict between a greenie & a donor. Both explanations from either side sound logical, but both contradict themselves by one saying one thing & the other a second thing. Who would you be more likely to believe? That's a rhetorical question I'm not going to answer, I want you to talk about that in the comments. Let's say that you would decide to believe the donor, however the greenie is completely innocent & the donor used his/her power/influence to their advantage, thus abusing their rank (in an indirect way of course) The greenie then is lessened at a potential application promotion & is going to have an even harder time living in the server. There are many cases that something like this happens & nothing is done against it. Another sad thing from my perspective is that whenever a greenie joins that chat everyone completely ignores the player. And when this happens all the time, then it negatively reinforces their mental state. They aren't noticed, they are in a bad mood & most probably don't find friends. You're probably saying that isn't true, however what I'm saying is true indeed. Maybe their love for skyblock outweighs the fact that they are kind of lonely, however that doesn't change the fact that they should be treated differently. Greenies are players just like you & they deserve respect. We live in a world where hate has the upperhand, don't try to say no because you would clarify that you aren't mature. So becareful not to mess around with people's feelings, especially greenies. Greenies are targets for abuse & hatred. It's not their fault for not having money or just simply not wanting to donate. I believe that there has been formed a barrier between normal players & donors, it has reached to an extent that even staff members are induced with this psychological phenomena. Whenever a greenie says hi in chat everyone ignores him/her, however when a donator says hi the whole chat is being spammed with messages. Isn't that a bit unfair? Let's get back to what I wanted to ask. Why are greenies such social outcasts? The reason for that is simple in my opinion. Money, money is the key factor for everything in the world, and minecraft servers aren't an exception. Whenever you have a donator online & someone is in need of help, who do you think the person is going to contact? (while a mod is not online) Of course it's going to be the donor that is going to be contacted. Let me give you a brief explanation of what is going on in the head of a player in need. "Oh, that guy has a special bold colorful name, that means he's cool & I need to ask him becasue he can answer my question without a problem" Bull**** That is exactly how it's not supposed to be, however sadly it is. Next time when you see a greenie that is trying to help you, please respect him, because sometimes one greenie can be wiser than many donors. Don't judge by money, judge by qualities. ~TOM
#Greenies4Respect Thats why I don't ignore greenies and I always help them if I am available. And thats why I wanted donor in NET because I was sick of getting rejected and ignored.
#GreeniesNeedRespect They're just like all of us. Donors literally just get special ranks and a colourful name as you said, Tom. I've noticed that greenie's are mostly people who have just started on the server. They need help (as in knowing the warps etc). All of us need to respect greenies, even if some are not easy to help to get used to the server; so lets do that. Help out greenies. #Respect
I see what you're trying to say here and agree with you on certain parts. A lot of non-donors are nice people and I am friends with many of them. A lot of people (mainly Donors) have very little trust for non-donors, but that is to be expected. Who is most likely going to scam someone: a Donor or a non-donor? I'd say a non-donor because you usually wouldn't see someone who has donated a lot of money to the server break the rules, whereas a non-donor wouldn't have lost a rank, thus losing no money. However, you mention about people ignoring non-donors when they say something in chat. When there are lots of people talking in chat, Donor and Skygod tags are much easier to see because they're brightly colours. When there are lots of non-donors messaging in chat, it's hard to single them out sometimes. I have always treated non-donors like any other player because they are equal to everyone else on the server and Donors shouldn't be favourited just because they have donated money. A non-donor could equally be as experienced as someone who has donated too. I have met many nice non-donors throughout my time on Skyblock. I even joined a non-donor's island back in 2014 when I was a Skygod and they'd only been playing for a month and I'm still friends with them today.
Greenies are a bit ignored when needing help and such. Donors tend to think that greenie = noob, which is not necessarily true. In case you are wondering, I am personally a greenie. Yup, that's right. I use to play a lot on skyblock about 1 year and 6 months ago and I had a lot of fun. Although I was a greenie (I still am) I have had my fun. Of course being a donor makes the gameplay easier, however I could manage to earn some stuff. After some time I got bored and left. I have come back a few months ago and reset my island. My previous coop partner left after me, so I could not get my beacons and diamonds back which is quite sad. Anyways, I have come back and signed up on the forums, as I was not registered, so many people must be thinking "Who is this random guy that just appeared and that I have never seen in game??" One year is enough to be forgotten. I would like to purchase a donor rank; as you guys there are completely right, however I am saving money for a new project (nothing to do with minecraft), which complicates things. Anyways I wanted to post this in my introduction, which I never turned out writing, as I am just lazy. yup this system is a bit unfair, but this is how server monetisation works.
Well, the name greenbean or greenie is just a nick name for a non rank based on the color of their name. I wouldn't say they are all outcasts. Some fit in pretty well with the 'popular groups'. From what I've seen, greenbeans aren't neglected because they don't have money. For example, I remember seeing CJ_Plays_Games on his island covered entirely in grass. And he was a greenbean. They are most likely neglected by some people because they are stereotyped as scammers and spammers. People think donors are better and more trustworthy only because they spent money on the server. So people know they are attached to the server. Greenbeans are generally either 1) new players who don't know the rules 2) People who can't/don't want to donate and 3) Offenders who don't want to waste their money. Unfortunately those people who don't want to or can't donate are put in to the stereotype with people who aren't the best at following the rules. This wouldn't happen most likely Staff would look at past records, logs, and other materials. They need proof to ban. Not he says, she says. I basically agree with this. Some people do try to include greenbeans. Yeah, hate has the upper hand. And people would be ignorant not to see this. But this thread's goal is to earn equality and respect for greenbeans, correct? Well, being more careful when among a greenbean isn't really equal. Why not be more careful when speaking to everyone. Greenbeans aren't all of a target as you might think. Donors get sensitive and 'bullied' as well. If just depends if you are willing to stand up for yourself. Eh, if everyone hasn't figured out, money does run the world in certain situations. Personally, I don't think greenies are social outcasts. They may start out as one, but if it really bothered them, they probably might want to get into a conversation in chat. It might go better than they think.
Way to shut down everyone who might think against your opinion. The simple answer to this is that Skyblock is pay to win. There's nothing else to it.
And I'm saying it's unfair that just because people have money they get noticed more. That's exactly what is unfair. That they have bold or highlighted nicknames. That's the sad part that just because of this small fact greenies get neglected.
You finally understood te concept behind the whole EULA thing That's why donors are mad at Mojang: Mojang people are trying to stop this. A donation can be "rewarded", but not should not turn the serve into a pay-to-win thing
I was talking about the unfairness towards greenies & their ignorance from other donors. I'm saying that the community is sort of outcasting greens. Nothing about how they progress in the game. Generally speaking people tend to believe donators as people before have mentioned as well as me. Let's just say Money=fake trust. And of course, however donators that get bullied are most probably a minority compared to greenies. It's just from my perspective. A weak person is more like to get targeted. And then since they are so invisible in chat they are most likely to be ignored. However yes, it is most defintiely possible to create stable friendships. But let's agree that being a greenie is harder, way harder than being a donor shall we?
My apologies. I must have miss-read the couple of sentences. I do comprehend what you are stating about fake trust, but mods are not suppose to act on this. If they do not have proof, no one would get a punishment. If they acted on the situation and agreed with the donor [only to act in favor of the donor], they would be at fault, most likely finding a staff report on them.
Before I get into this, I'm not trying to be offensive. I'm tired of threads talking about how greenies get the short end of the stick. I was a greenie through different accounts for 3 years. I never once felt as though something was wrong with not being a donor or being a donor. I figured that the donors are players, just like me, and I'm going to have to work harder to get the same amount of money as a donor because they have kits. In the end, I put in hard work and was able to surpass a lot of donors in net worth. I also hate when someone brings up a point and talks about how the money stays within the donors and they don't trade with the greenies unless they are taking advantage of them. Two things about that. One, learn your prices. Watch donors trading items in chat. If a price seems outlandish, it may not be the best to go off of. Try averaging the prices you see. Two, if you start adding the amount of money greenies have together, you start to get MORE than donors. I just see it as you need to put in work and you'll do just as well as a donor. That's my little ramble
Only way to et attention is : LOOK --------- Selling CHEAP stone!MSG now! Anyway. Seriously, sometimes being a greenie could be harsh. I myself did not donate for the only reason that I am currently saving up for something irl. If I was wealthy as I used to be, I would get someone to upgrade me for diamonds.
Yeah but it's fine. Most of the time it doesn't matter, and it isn't that much harder to get skybucks/diamonds.
I have never said that greenie = poor and donor = cash It is just more difficult to obtain the same items. Difficult, not impossible.
Definitely, what I'm saying is that since moderators are a minority (not many of them) then the majority gets easily thrown in the wrong direction because of what I stated above many times. ~Tom Fight - I have never once mentioned something about trading. It's lovely and outstanding that you have the brain capacity to ignore the haters. However the majority don't really have a tough mind to process all the ignorance and therefore the things I mentioned above happen. Greenies do definitely need respect. I am a fellow greenie(or was) Tom Most definitely I agree ~Tom
I'm not a greenie anymore, I didn't believe in donating to the server until recently. I think a level of respect can be there if you make it there. For example, start talking to donors and see if they'll like you back. There are plenty of donors that'll be your friend and thus creating trust. For example, a current player I was good friends with, named _Jeg222 I believe. He has respect among donors. Again to me it's about hard work.
((this is more of an opinion, please don't take offence to this.)) I'd like to also say, yes, I'm a donor, and have been for over a year, but this is me being as unbiased as possible. What I've seen, most greenies who spam are younger than the "typical" model donor. Yes, there are young donors, who have the same behaviour of a typical "spamming greenie." When I was younger, I had no idea what was going on around me and tended to do things without any notice of my surroundings. This is completely debatable, and in no means true. Stop saying all donors think we're surperior to greenies, because that's not true. I've seen greenies hate on donors, but not many people make such a big deal out of it, do they? Whenever I see someone hate on greenies, they're usually donors, yeah, but they're usually young or unaware that they're being rude. Greenies don't have it as hard as you think, donors were nice to me, and I wasn't a well-known, model greenie whatsoever. If you want respect, you got to respect and realize what you're doing. I'm all about greenie rights, I just feel like a lot of people overlook the whole thing, and stereotype donors.
