    Craftable ores for decoration.

smooth stone surrounded by 8 corresponding ingots/gems to make the ore. 8 is enough so fortune would never provide a profite form remaking and mining with fortune.

Correct me if I am wrong, but can't you use a pick with silk touch and fortune and profit? Or is that already disallowed on ores? I know it is like that for quartz, so I am just wondering.

    Notice he said:
8 ingots/gems + 1 smooth stone: that will never make a profit when remining with fortune unless you have like fortune 5 which is unobtainable. The only exception is lapis lazuli, in which case, can easily be fixed by having a smooth stone surrounded by 32 lapis lazuli, since:
"When mined with a stone pickaxe or better, a block of lapis lazuli ore will drop 4–8 pieces of lapis lazuli. With the Fortune III enchantment, a single block has a chance of dropping up to 32 pieces", and therefore will make it impossible to profit from.
One could also think that you could profit from mining redstone, but:
"A single redstone ore will yield 4–5 redstone when mined with an iron or diamond pickaxe. With the Fortune enchantment, additional redstone up to the enchantment level may be dropped (e.g. 0–3 extra will be dropped with Fortune III)."
Which means, the max amount of redstone obtainable from one ore with Fortune 3 is 8 pieces, which is also required to craft the ore.

yall gonna keep being idiots make it surrounded by 8 blocks of the ingot/gem or just make it unable to be silked like grass.

I am just asking if you can continuously mine the ore with silk touch and fortune to profit. If this were to be a thing, I would prefer the ores being able to be silked because otherwise you can't move it.

Can you at least break it with a pick without silk touch? Like have it return the 8 materials?

i support the idea of craft-able ores as long as like said before it could NOT be used to profit. many people like to build realistic worlds and would look very nice with being able to add ores in caves and such. i think you should be able to use silk touch on it to move it, but fortune should have no effect on it or something.
