This one contains other information than Zambiana's.

First things first: making the screenshot.

There are two methods to make a screenshot, both as effective.

In minecraft: Press f2 if you have windows 7/xp. (as far as I know) If you have an apple or windows 8, (again as far as I know) you have to press the function button + f2. That will be Fn + f2.

Outside minecraft: Press the Prt Sc button on your keyboard.

    Finding the screenshot:

In minecraft: The screenshot is in your %appdata% folder. To find it with windows, press windows button + r to ''run'' it instead of search it. Type in %appdata%. There, go to your .minecraft folder and find screenshots, there they are!
On the forums, simply press upload a file and type %appdata% in the bar there.

Outside minecraft: Once you've done Prt Sc, go to paint. In paint, press the ''paste'' button. If you want, you can easily add some things with a pencil. Save it in paint to any folder you'd like. To upload it to the forums, press ''upload a file'' and go to the folder where you've saved it.

Any information on linux etc. would be useful.

For Mac users, you can take a screenshot by pressing Command+Shift+3 The screenshot will automatically be saved to your desktop ready for you to upload it.

The upload a file button is located next to the post reply button. :)
