[All Servers] Minecraft Console Clients - Are they legal?

I would just like to know whether or not using a Console Client is legal.

So I've actually never heard of a console client, but from what I've seen, they can be able to cause lag to a server if you're AFKing with multiple accounts. Could you explain what you would do with it?

 

It's basically like Minechat, and I don't intend to use it in any malicious or disruptive way. Think of it as Minechat but
on your Command Prompt.

 

Why do you need some sort of minechat on your command prompt? Can't you just use the minecraft launcher?

 

Console clients should be fine since they don't affect/alter gameplay
