You want story games or games you can pick up and play whenever you want indefinitely? For story, I'd suggest Pillars of Eternity. It'll keep you going for a very long time, and won't be too harsh on your PC. For the other thing, I'd suggest Windward, Towns and Don't Starve. Hammerwatch is also fun.
On my 9 year old computer I could play Uberstrike with no lag, I also bought CSGO and I couldn't go any higher then 5 fps
Tribal is right. With your current PC, you're best off playing with things like Project Zomboid. Pixelated and stuff.
CSGO Is an amazing fps game mostly strategic too. Team fortress 2 is also a random but fun game, Goat simulator is really random so funny. Robocraft is a bit of a building your own robot and go out into a battle and you can upgrade your robot, your robot has a fully customization module so you can keep upgrading it. It can keep you going for a while too.
Save it for sales, and wait for games like cs:go, portal, skyrim and such. They all go on sale a few times a year. Kamex · Steam Calculator · 76561198057192984 · Steam Database that's a list of my games. I'd also suggest not buying steam money, and getting codes from third party sites like g2a and using a tool like allkeyprices. Another option is buy CS-GO skins and keys cheap, and trade them for games cheaper. There are also plenty of bundles of you want a few crappy games for about a dollar. Also, if you (or anyone) need help with upgrading or building a new PC, please send me a pm and I'll give you a hand.
