I know there's a few of these threads but I thought I'd make my own because I have nothing else to do. xD

    Scamming:

I thought I'd make a thread about how to avoid scamming and report scammers because there have been many incidents where players are unable to get the scammer banned and their items refunded because there's not enough evidence. Here are some ways of preventing and reporting scams.

How to get enough evidence and avoid scams:

    1. One of the best ideas would be to record the scam. There are many screen recorders out there that are free such as Fraps (free version) or Bandicam. Once you have recorded the scam, upload it to somewhere like YouTube. Then you can post the link in your report and you video will show in the report.

    2. If you are unable to record the trade because you don't have a screen recorder, you can also screenshot the scam. The main things you need to screenshot are you and the other player agreeing to the trade and you dropping the items, preferably when the items are on the floor next to the other player. You also need to screenshot the player not dropping the other items in return, or screenshot them leaving if they do. Once you have done this, post the screenshots in a report.

    3. If you're a Donor400, you have the ability to do /invsee [playername] and see if they have the items in their inventory. If you're not a Donor400, ask one that's online to do /invsee and check the player has the items. If they don't have the items in their inventory, you're probably going to get scammed.

    4. Ask a Moderator to watch the trade if there is one online. Message them asking if they can watch a trade for you. If the player scams you, the Moderator watching can ban them and you'll get your items refunded. Please note that asking a Full Moderator or a Super Moderator would be better to watch a trade as they would be able to take the stuff from the scammer's inventory and return in to you.

How to upload videos and screenshots to the forums:

    [Editing later]

Don't forget, if the trade looks too good to be true, it's probably going to be a scam.

Thanks for reading. If I think of anymore, I'll add them in the thread. Feel free to comment what else I should add to this.

Don't forget the chest trade shops! Safest way to prevent scams (well once they're put back in, again). ;)

Actually, if you have a Mac, you can always use QuickTime player, even clearer then Bandicam. But then, uploading to YouTube is always a pain in the butt, so it's best they don't scam.
