Is there any legal way to carry forward sand and my lava bucket from before I joined a co-op? If so, is there any way to be restored for having lost them? Being new and naïve, I accepted the coop without understanding the consequence and basically came in completely empty handed. Voting got me grass to get started, but there's no way I can find to get going with sand again... The iron for buckets are expensive, but eventually do-able... but the sand seems like a total dead-end. I could imagine going back to a new island, but don't want to get caught up in an island farming racket if indeed there's no way to carry them forward and the coop owner doesn't seem to have any sand placed that I can find. Thanks for your time.
Nope, taking bucket and sand (and dirt) from your old island to a new island or coop is a bannable action.
Other than the complete and utter lack of said items anywhere in my current environs... Not so much. I don't know how much trading of illegal items is tracked server side, but if such logs existed you'd see I'd never given any away. That was part of my question about legality of trying to carry them forward - someone in the coop said I could have theoretically given them to him to hold when I joined, then take them back... but I'm not sure if that would have counted as an illegal trade... Gnollmar's response would indicate it's illegal. I certainly understand how doing this more than once would throw off the economy - but it seems odd that joining a coop limits us to the single bucket & sand allocation from the coop owner.
I suggest to start a new island, is this on .net or .org? if its net I can help you more. Also when accept coop offers everything you own unless in an enderchest is wiped.
Thanks ChibiBerry - yes, this is .net. To be clear, I want to stay in the coop, this is meant to be a one time thing of just the sand and bucket of lava... I'm totally fine with having lost everything else. I had a good start on the old island, I REALLY didn't understand what I'd accepted in the coop - my mistake - but just these two things were the most fundamental components for continuing on. I can buy ice for more water, but without a bucket there's no way to move it... And sand, well, there's no way back for that. I'll look for you in-game the next couple of days if that's how you'd help - off for tonight. Thanks, greatly.
Gah, are you still on right now by any chance? Sorry that I replied so late, forums were loading really slow for me I wasn't able to reply in time and then I got distracted by something. If not I'll get on later and give you 3 iron, quote me on here whenever you are on. :3
I wasn't, unfortunately. The iron will be much appreciated, but was secondary (if I had to pick) to the sand. Additionally - sorry for the hassle... Are you capable of authorizing a one time island farm as suggested, or do we need to kick that up a level? Exiting my coop, getting a new island with some sand, and rejoining the coop seems complicated and risk-fraught. I saw some other threads about taking care with lockettes, and my island mates schedules don't seem to sync up well to get re-invited if I go that way. <I'm trying vainly to find the donor rank descriptions to see if one of those contains sand and we might have a waiver to get it that way, assuming we find a willing approver and donor. My search-fu is failing me to find the post.> Edit: Found it! See later post below... The donations list, perks etc | Skyblock Forums Part of my interest is to serve as a warning to others of what they lose, and to clarify for posterity whether we're really allowed to carry forward exactly 1 island's worth of your base materials. Most of the rules talk about farming as an "over and over" economy upsetting thing, rather than what seems like a reasonable intention of continuing with what you started with - though it's certainly a tough programming problem to make it enforceable via code. I was a modder with a lot of anti-cheat works in an old multi-player game, so I understand the perspective from that side of the keyboard. (Dynamix's Tribes.)
.net or .org? .net has sand in donor kits, dont think .org has. But on the other hand, sand ain't "that pricy" on .org
FINALLY found it again. Chibibar, could you potentially pin this post on the donor ranks? My dilemma makes a heck of a sales pitch to pitch in, support the server, and get the sand and bucket via Donor25. I'll probably just do that, saving everyone time and hassle. Thanks for all the help. Here's the link I'm referring to and linked inline above: The donations list, perks etc | Skyblock Forums
If you can give me your in game name through private message, I will gladly refund you the iron. I'm going to lock this thread at the moment, so just PM me for further help
