[Canada] XDisawesome's Trial Moderator Application

Preface/Introduction:
Hello, I'm Andrew, or Drew. But most of you know me as XDisawesome. I have applied for moderator over the summer, but the thread has been locked, when I have requested a ban. I had a lot of things going on with my life, and with some anger issues, I did not feel safe to stay on the server. Now that all my personal problems have been sorted out, I want apply for moderator again. I believe that in doing the job of a moderator, you are doing it for the server, and the people. Not for yourself, not for the perks, but because you genuinely enjoy the server enough to take on a difficult job, to make it even better than it already is.

How old are you?
I am currently 16, and taking courses from every grade level in school. (Grade 9 math, Grade 10 science, and geography, grade 11 history, and grade 12 PhysEd. and Music if you were wondering)

What timezone are you in?
I live in the Eastern Standard time.

What country do you live in?
I live in Canada, north of Toronto, Ontario.

What languages do you speak?
I am able to speak fluently in English, and conversationally in French (Mandatory for schools in Canada) and Chinese/Mandarin (No, I'm not Chinese, it was a course I took in Grade 9)

Have you ever been banned? (if yes, why?)
I have indeed been banned, and multiple times for that matter. Here's a list of my bans, in order. (Tell me if I missed any)

• 3 Forum bans, one was for posting in someone's appeal, and another was requested. And another accidental ban, because a mod banned me instead of a spambot.

Though I have been banned, I believe that it wouldn't affect my moderating. I believe anything that happens can help me become a better person. After my rule breaking, I have not broken the same rule again. I am a person who learns from their mistakes and experiences. A person's wrongdoing does not affect the good things in a person. I believe that even though I have used excessive caps lock, that doesn't mean I wouldn't make a good mod.

Why do you think you should be a mod?/What qualifications do you have?
I think I should become a moderator because of the things I see on the servers, often the spam, the caps, the things that happen when mods aren't online that I could help with, but I can't control. I know, and so do many of you, that I am just as immature, and I too use caps quite often, but I am able to stop myself from doing that, but I cannot stop the other people who do. I am an active, involved, and contributing member of the community, but I feel that I am able to do even more, so I have applied for moderator, to do that. I also believe, I can fill in the time periods where moderators are not online. Not including .net super moderators ,.org only has 10 moderators, and one Trial moderator. There are hours on end, where I am online, and I see people looking for moderators, and cannot find any. Times where rule breaking happens, times where people need help, times and spaces which I can fill. I feel that I am knowledgeable, approachable, and qualified enough to be applying for this position. My qualifications include (But not limited to):

• Friendly and approachable. I, like many others enjoy talking in chat. Being often seen in chat means people often ask me for help. I am often approached, but without the position of moderator, there are some things I cannot help with. I feel sorry when people ask me questions, or to do tasks that I cannot perform.
• Understanding, easy to talk to, and easy going. I am an understanding person, who is there to talk to, help, or comfort those who need it. I am able to help people who are struggling in ways, because I have my own struggles at times, and can relate in a way other players may not be able to.
• Gets along well with others. I get along quite well with most other players on the server. I am friends with most players, and moderators both. And therefore I would not be biased against any other players.
• Good sense of humor, but only at appropriate times. Some people may think that you'd always have to be serious, but I have a good sense of humor too. I enjoy joking around with my friends on the server, and having fun too.
• I would never let my personal feelings of a situation or person, affect/bias my moderating. And I would never bring my personal life to affect my moderating. Even if I'm having a bad day, or something has happened in my life, I may rant about it, I may complain in chat, but I am not one to be banning, kicking, or abusing my moderator permissions because of that. I'd never take advantage of my commands to solve my own problems, and I'd only ban/kick with a reason.
• I am a fast typer, and one of the first to reply to an illegal auction, or trade, or answering someone's questions. I am quite fast a typer for a 15 year old. At over 60wpm, that's faster than many adults who work at computers everyday. I'd be the first to warn someone, and my kicking/banning would not be delayed in the case of rule breakings.
• I am familiar with many basic moderator commands, and I am able to learn new ones very fast. I'm a fast learner who knows the basic commands. There's plugins I have not yet worked with, but would be happy to learn how to use.
• I am very active on the server I believe I am one of the most active players on the server. I am on forums every day, for hours on end. All while being on the server too. I am also on the server at night, very late where no moderators are on. Though I live in the Eastern time zone, I am so active that I am easily online during Australian and European times.
• I am quite active on the forums. I am online on forums during school hours, sleeping hours, and always one of the few people online during non-traffic times.

How long can you be active on the server everyday?
I'm online longer than most people would expect. I'd be in game for at least 5 hours a day, and at least 7 hours on forums. I have no set schedule, but I'm probably/usually always online at 10PM-2AM at night.
Mondays-Fridays: 3-10 hours.
Saturdays-Sundays: 5-11 hours.

How long have you been playing skyblock.org?
I have been playing since November 2013, which is over a year now, and I hope to continue playing for more years to come.

Do you have any past experience as a moderator?
I have moderated websites, and forums similar to this one. I have moderated a factions server that is quite large, and have also moderated a smaller server. But this server is one I have always wished to moderate on.

You know what i like about this app? Your honesty. You admit that sometimes you break a rule (Caps) but you also try to resolve this problem. What i would suggest you is to solve this problem not only because you want the job, but because you want to prove that you're right !

Don't wait till you get the job to fix it .. Other than this You get my entire support !

 

Thanks! I do try to be honest as much as possible in my moderator application, I feel that honesty is an important factor in moderating. I try my best not to use caps, but I'm 15, and sometimes I'm immature, like all teenagers. Thanks for the feedback and support!

You may want to resolve that before getting power in a server.

question: why would you uh request a ban?..

 

A lot of people request bans. My first one was because I sort of ruined my life, mainly due to minecraft related problems. The other two were some personal problems.

ye I have always wondered why people (besides yourself) would request lol

so if you have properly dealt with your anger and that has faded away
you will have my support
I just don't think its a good idea to have someone that is angered easily to handle moderating because of a few things.
(As the in past dealing with anger issues myself I wouldn't even consider myself to handle trying to apply as mod)

But if you are better now I gotchu Because I know people can fully heal from that.

If I ever supported I will have to not support anymore.
You have became real immature lately and I do not think you are mod material. You joke around a lot in chat and say inappropriate words. Also you use caps lock when you leave so I can't kick you for it. You usually use caps to get attention from other players and spam and call it an accident. I don't think you are mature enough for the job. You are rude to players when they are online. Now sure you may be joking around, yet some still take it seriously. As a mod I'm sure that would not be make out mods look mature.
