All-Inclusive Rules

Perfection. Could not have put that statement any better myself.

 

I want some more rules added to the extensive rules and I want the extensive rules to be available in game. At best, make it compulsory to read the rules before playing.

Should there ever be a point where a player has not had the "O.K." from their parents to either check a (social media) site to find out, or even know there are forums, then they should be able to have a book available. Or in the slightest, a broadcast to say "check out the rules @ http://www.blahlblahlablalhlahlah"
It would make it not only more available, but also help a lot with informing.

i could swear last year when i joined i got a book with rules... BUT, that was a year ago, so i cant remember xD

a book should either,
-get sent to all existing players, and all new players get one upon first joining the game
-or it should come with every new island in the chest

or both

and to the rules on the forum, needs to stay on the front page at all times (1 under the newest post of course)

 

The rules are at the top of the first section in the forums which I find is good enough but you're definitely right about the book

 

the rules are on the second page bubble, right now crews post is at the top of the forums front page lol,
if your talking about in one of the forum sections, i havent even seen it wherever in there it would be..

edit- ohhh news and announcements section, but who actually clicks and checks?
its better on the front page because you litterally cant say you didnt see "rules in the most in depth form" its right there in your face xD

 

Oh yeah, forgot about the home part of the forums, I only ever check the forums tab

Yeah, I think that upon joining the server/or making their first island, every new player should receive a book with extensive rules?

 

Ikr! Also, the current book (which can only be obtained by trading with a villager in the corner of spawn) is out of date and contains not many of the rules. Even the rules that it does mention aren't very in-depth.

 

You should've asked a staff member if it was illegal.

 

Firstly, there were no moderators online and I didn't know a forum existed. Secondly, it seemed totally logical at the time that it would be legal, since it in no way compromises the gameplay of others and the rules didn't mention it. I wasn't sure if it was legal or not so I checked the rules. The rules said nothing about the matter, so I assumed it obviously wasn't a rule. It's just so completely illogical for them to say: "Here's a list of some of the rules, but not all of them. You will also be punished for even the ones we didn't mention, but hey, that's your problem. Oh yeah, also we're not even going to tell you that that list doesn't contain all of the rules. Have a nice day!". It's just ludicrous. And finally, this isn't just about my personal experience. This is about the fact that people are being punished for things they didn't know were illegal. The rules need to be made more known and they need to include ALL of the rules, not just a small handful.

I support this.
I didn't know about alot of things before asking them in chat or looking them up on the forum.
But ofcourse, like other people said, that's common sense. Asking or looking first, before doing it.
Some rules need to be looked up first. Like for example, the blocks you are allowed to trade.
Most of the time while trying to trade dirt or sand, people will say that it is illegal.
But I've seen it enough that people don't even read what people are saying and keep spamming "Trading dirt for X".

A plugin could help in this case.
I'm aware that it may conflict with other plugins / won't work well with the current plugins.
But something like this:

AcceptRules - Bukkit

But like I said, it may interfere with the donor system for example;

A book, given to a new player when joining the server for the first time, with EVERY rule written in it would probably be the easiest way.

 

Obviously you know more than me about plugins and such, and whilst an addtional pop up message would be the best-case-scenario I think a book would be satisfactory. Pretty much anything is better than what we have at the moment.
