(help) Why do i get so many lag spikes?

My friends and I have been getting loads of lag spikes and my computer is fine and so is my internet.

Can someone tell me why this is happening and how to solve this it can really help, thank you.

 

Is it on your island that you're getting the lag spikes? If so, do you have a lot of redstone contraptions or mobs on your island?

 

I had a few golems and I have a spawner that I don't use

 

I've heard that since signs and item frames are considered entities, having a lot of them can create lag. Although, I'm not completely sure that's true. Do you happen to have a lot of those?

 

I have loads of signs, I guess that solves it.

Is it all of your island or one specific area?

 

It all of my island but it occurs more often when im near my tower

 

I had it in one area on my old island, I believe it was sharkkiller2014 or Gray Sage who fixed it , they can probably help

 

You might want to install Malware Bytes (Malwarebytes | Free Anti-Malware Detection & Removal Software) and do a full scan on your computer. It could be undetected viruses.

 

Yep I am on this island, we have a GIANT building. I don't seem to get any lag spikes

Signs *aren't* entities in the same way item frames are, or cows are. They are what is called a "tile entity" which basically means a custom modeled block. Chests are tile entities too, as are many other blocks. As to the lag, idk. Just felt like clearing that bit up

 

Flowing water, flowing lava, animals, and your biome are the biggest contributors. Cold and extreme hills biomes being the worst with water.

 

Also, do not forget Redstone clocks, Redstone pistons, and other types of Redstone items can cause lag (and I should know, parts of my island lag by that.)

Also, make sure you disabled clocks in unloaded chunks, they can cause them to malfunction, and SERIOUS lag when unloading the chunk.

 

Indeed, I myself always make sure to have a kill switch. Doesn't make sense to have your machines running when you aren't actually using them.

 

I have tons of clocks but I turn them all off except for my autofarm. If you leave one on, you should be fine.

 

Gee guys I didn't know I would get so many responses. Anyways I got a Anti virus and so do my friends. My island is pretty big, would it help If I take a screenshot to show you how massive it is?

 

Btw to describe how big the tower is, half of it was still there when the host did new island replace :O

 

Screenshots wouldn't hurt. Someone might be able to see something in them that you missed.

 

what server you play on org or net?
and be sure to ask around if anyone else lag when you do. Best apporach i'd say is teleport a moderator to your islaand.
If they feel the spikes. than it's server side else

You might need to lower your video setting, perhaps get optifine
