Architect's New Build

So, after the recent success of /Warp Castle (Of which I've received a lot of thanks and congrats on), I've been asked when I will be starting my next build. Well, I already have.

This one is going to be most challenging. Taking up the full build height (255 blocks high), this will be a massive, but amazing build to rival the complexity and difficulty of creating Castle In The Skyblock.

For those of you wondering, no, I don't have Mod abilities (with little desire to become one), no I don't have Creative Mode (every block in the builds are crafted or traded for and legal in Skyblock).

Now... To present the new build, here is a scale model of it courtesy of the WETA workshop:




Barad-dûr: Sauron's Tower and home of the All Seeing Eye


It won't be possible to have mine as detailed as this one... But close. (Given that this should be somewhere between 1200 and 1500m tall (4000-5000 feet for you weird imperial measure people) and roughly 1200-1500 blocks high which isn't possible.)

I'll keep this post updated as I go along with the build progress.

Well done, that is gonna be a hard build. What items do you need? Some sponsorships can't be that bad for an awesome build like this.

 

While I'd love to build it out of Obsidian, as it is supposed to be the Black Tower, unfortunately Skyblock's mechanics won't allow that. (Right click to turn Obsidian into Lava)

And given that the only other options are Coal Blocks and Black/Dark Grey Wool, it's just not economically viable.
So, I'm going to be working with Stone Brick, Cobble and Stone as much as possible. At least until 1.8 comes along and we can get Crafted Stone Blocks of other varieties...

I have my generator in place (as you can see at the bottom of the central pillar marker), so those items won't be too bad, but I will likely end up needing a fair amount of Obsidian for the surrounding "Moat" and other effects. (Currently looking at ~ 1200-1400 Obsidian - and I have 76 at the moment.)

 

Do you have an efficient stone gen? I could mine for you, for a while

 

I can get you the obsidian

 

Coloured wool, especially black/grey/dark grey isn't a problem. I'll provide as much as you need to.

 

I would need about 40-50 DC of Black Wool... I'm going to attempt this with stone first. If it goes well, then I can always replace it. Not to mention I can't get some of the shapes/pieces I need out of wool (Stairs, slabs and walls).

I've been meaning to ask. How did you get your own warp and is the castle inside the 99x99 block limit?
