When I see people swearing, I always wait a moment, and then check /seen for the player. More often than not they got kicked.

But most people don't do that, so they don't see mods being active even when they are.

I agree with most of the points... mods definitely use threats a lot, but usually it's condoned, as usually the person is being stupid or disrespectful. I have seen it firsthand many times. I don't think there is anything inherently wrong with threats, just as long as their deserved.

I couldnt agree more about the vulgar language. Last night I was on just to play some MA and it was god awful. People were spamming rude things, bad words, everything. I got onto skype and asked if anyone could just get on, and Taylor stepped up to the plate. The thing is, Taylor already dedicates herself more than enough to .Net, and someone else needs to give her a break. I only see the same 4 mods on Net over and over again, and it may just be timezones, but honestly something really needs to be done.

I do agree with this very strongly. You have brought up some very good points, and I strongly agree with you on the threat of ban part, because there is a better way to deal with that, and that is kind of showing you are lazy and really don't want to teach them a lesson, just make them shut up. You could simply kick them, because that itself is a warning.

But I do have to slightly disagree with the AFK part. I think that it is bad when you /afk for a hour or so, but if you are just going to be gone 30 seconds, then it is very useful. Honestly, I have a very crappy computer and if I leave the game it takes a very long time to get back in the game. When a player messages a mod in /afk, it tells them that the mod is afk and cannot help at the moment.

As Mistydrop said, I will say I have seen a big problem with mods on the server. I do know that .net is a big server, but exactly to misty's point, there really are around only 6 mods on .net that are constantly on, and the others don't do enough to keep up their title. That is like working for somebody, yet being payed when you go into work one day a week. Now I understand some of us have things to do, but if you can never be on, than please do not apply for mod. Same problem with .org, you can easily look at a staff list to see that half of the people on the list never play anymore.

Again Zambiana, thank you for bringing up these flaws, and I will try to work on any of these problems that I may have in-game.

No kidding. This really needs to be addressed. The inactivity of super mods is shameful.

To be honest, I have to agree. There are alot of people who would make much better mods than some of the current ones.

I agree. I think tonight I'm going to make a list of moderators that haven't been on in over 2 weeks. Sorry if this takes a while.

So glad the supermods of the server are being so heavily brought in to question. Not

People seem to misunderstand the hierarchy in this system. While they do have access to other perms, they are the same as mods, and targetting them does nothing to prove your point. In many a case each and every supermod has personal reasonings as to why they are unable to be super active. Not to mention just because one mod cannot be as active as the next does not make them any more in need of demotion.

Kato for example, is having computer problems at the moment and is unable to connect to minecraft until he can resolve those issues. Others like me, have other priorities to attend to, and have resolved ourselves to the belief that the other mods are perfectly capable of handling the job for a bit. We have also taken the necessary measures to ensure that our time off is accounted for.

All of these threads that pop up only focus on the negatives and always encompass the same arguments. No offense to Zamb, his points are solid in their regard, however, they aren't anything new. The complaints are always inactivity, attitude and handlings. Every mod is different. Every mod handles situations differently. And yet that does not mean that any mod just gets away with doing nothing. We have a rhyme and a reason, and what may come off as rude or inadequate processes, are being dealt with behind the scenes, where normal players can't see.

Nothing the mods do is without purpose. To outright insinuate that they are subpar is making a big accusation.
