I recently destroyed a 2 x 3 completed mapart that my friend and I had been working on for days... days of work gone in seconds. Please make there a way to save mapart so it can't be deleted like this. If a client had commissioned us to make the mapart- it would have been 300k gone. Its
This is the first time of hearing such issue like this happening. Definitely a support as this issue might really unmotivate people who do map arts for a profit and might cause them to quit eventually. I hope its possible tho.
Do you have any ideas on how the Developers would go about this? I'm not familiar with how map arts work, but would there be a "lock" put on map art after it is created? This can also serve as an issue when we have to deal with inappropriate map art and are unable to delete all copies of it. Possibly either staff members (or just super moderators) bypass this lock to clear map art or there is a command to clear map art. For example, if you visited the map art island in hopes to clear all copies of the art, you would type a command like /mapart clear and then /mapart yes (similar to the commands when you restart your island). I wanted to list some ideas for the suggestion and some concerns I may have about it.
These are good suggestions, I can say this is a good idea as I've also experienced the struggles of having maps being reset by careless players, but I feel like it could also potentially cause a lot of other problems as well. A tip that I would recommend is to never carry any sorts of maps on you especially when you're visiting islands.
