My suggestion is that buckets should be able to pick up lava in the nether to be used in furnaces. The way this would be implemented: 1. Lava can be picked up in a bucket in the nether. 2. Whenever a player leaves the nether any lava buckets are emptied (I played on a server where water/lava was automatically emptied from buckets when entering spawn to prevent griefing, so I know this is possible). And that's it, that way we can bring furnaces into the nether and smelt away! Let me know what you think.
I'm mostly leaning to a no support. I find it unnecessary for that feature to be implemented if you can only use lava in the nether and especially if it were to be used ONLY in furnaces which not much people use as u can easily use blaze rods or wood or coal to smelt stuff.
I don’t really think this is necessary at all. Also, would the lava only be able to be used in a furnace, or could it be placed too? Because there could be problems with people placing lava at nether portal spawn points, or underneath other players.
The whole reason it is disabled is to stop the trading of obsidian, if there was ever an exploit where the lava buckets could be taken out of the nether, it could cause some problems within the trading economy. As well as this, it's just not necessary. Most people use coal for their furnaces, and a lava bucket only powers a furnace for 25% longer. This means that really, it's not a deal breaker. When you factor in replenishing the bucket via attaining the lava, it is much more time efficient to use coal, and is a lot less hassle as you can perform that in the overworld on your island.
I think it's more what 52 said, when dropper buckets could get obby out of the nether people mass farmed it and there was no issues
This is a problem, didn't think of that. I know the devs could handle making it impossible to bring it out of the nether, but this could become a major issue. Thank you for your reply
I understand the purpose of you suggesting this, but there are other solutions. I think players would find sneaky and clever ways to bring lava out of the nether despite it being disabled. I cannot remember offhand if enderchests are disabled in the nether, but if they are not, lava buckets could be transfered through there. Adding this to the servers seems like it would add another thing for staff members to worry about players farming, duping, etc.
