A way to make sand trade possible?

    A lot of new players lose their sand and cannot get new sand easily. A lot of donors have sand in their kits but cannot do anything with it because it is illegal to trade. Creating a sand converter may help but that is just more redstone and effort. So what is the perfect solution?

    Now I assume it is possible to change the starter islands. Instead of giving people white sand, replace the sand with red sand.
    - Red sand is not widely obtainable so not a lot of people trade it or use it in builds.
    - Red sand has the same properties as white sand meaning you can farm on it the same as white sand

    Now all that is left is to allow white sand trade, tweak the settings to make sure red sand is illegal to trade and you have yourself a great solution.

    - Donors can now give non donors/donor 10's white sand so they can build better farms
    - Donors can refund lost starter red sand with white sand so new players don't have to restart
    - Donors can now sell off sand and its products in shops and make a bit of profit

    Now everyone is happy... Hooray!

    Disclaimer:

    Of course this suggestion rests on the assumption that you can edit the starter island builds without needing to do anything extreme with the plugin. If this suggestion isn't physically possible then I apologise.

    omg yess that would solve the problem of people not knowing how to handle transferring their own sand between coops or islands too!

    I love this idea! It allows non ranked players access to more than the 3 blocks on the regular skyblock starter island ( if my memory serves me well ). Is red sand even obtainable on the new server?

    eh, I think just a tradeshop at /warp grass to convert 1 red sand for 1 white sand and vise versa will do the same thing.

    Gosh of course support! You know the annoying thing that you see people losing their island white sand and you stand hopeless since you cant give them any white sand. Plus it would really help the terraformers like me and Devannn_ and the others who are terraforming bodies of water and deserts to buy white sand from anyone thus we will able to finish quicker.

    I love this idea, support. Or even maybe just legalise all sand because you only get 3 per island so island farming would take a long time and a useless waste of time, either way I think the first idea is better.

    support! This could be super cool and I know for one I've been at someone's island, they mind sand then It goes to me, and I have to stick it in one of their chests / ask them to trust me so I can put it back down. This can be very annoying!

    The reason for my Neutral: I spent quite a lot on my sand converter. I mean this is a great idea, but that will mean my creation will have gone to waste.

    It’s fair to think that but it’s a pretty self driven reason to knock an idea. If something can benefit the server, donors and new players at the expense of a sand generator then isn’t it worth trying?

    I don’t think this idea will be implemented anyway.

    You know what, you actually are correct. I mean it's dumb to say no support because it affects you and nobody else. I'm going to go ahead and switch to support. :)

    Support. I personally don't see the harm in legalizing sand trade, especially if islands were made to start with red sand. I would love to be able to sell some of my sand without having to take the time to convert it all to red sand.
