8. Why do you think you should be unbanned? I shouldn't be unbanned I have almost served the 24 hour ban that myrm gave me I find it unfair that he extended the ban for no reason

Good evening, PolyToad919/KoiFesh. Thank you for taking the time to make an appeal; I understand these situations can be frustrating for players and some explanation is occasionally necessary.

To clarify: The goal of SkyBlock is to maintain a safe, family-friendly environment for children to play in. We welcome and accept our older players as well; many of them become "de facto" community leaders and help maintain the experience for everyone else. Working together we have built a surprisingly large community for the last five years and, with help, we're looking to keep that going far into the future.

Unfortunately to preserve an environment that is family-friendly we occasionally ask our players to avoid certain words or topics in public chat. Swearing is frowned upon and filtered heavily. Likewise sexual nicknames, adult themes and explicit materials are not allowed. Since a large portion of our player base is very young these sorts of behaviors can drive away users or expose them to things they should not be learning through Minecraft.

To this end your recent behavior on the server and in chat is unacceptable. You were politely asked twice to change a sexually themed nickname:

Then began mocking other players for having mental illnesses while using a sexually themed nickname:

Which prompted me to directly ask if you were trying to be inappropriate in chat. You replied negatively and I requested you stop with the subject:

At this point you had received multiple, very clear requests to stop being inappropriate and acknowledged the situation. Your actions were incompatible with how our community is expected to behave and obviously meant to provoke other people and begin inappropriate conversations.

Sadly you then began making jokes about hate crimes against minorities, specifically lynching African-Americans. This resulted in a harsh official /warning about racial talk in public chat:

However after that you immediately began a disingenuous public discussion about "eating black nuts" and asking others what their favorite "nuts" were. When directly asked again if you were trying to be inappropriate you dodged the question with an evasive reply; this behavior only happens when the subject is aware their response invites censure:

You then began making jokes about suicide in public chat:

By this point and despite my best efforts it appeared you were determined to be inappropriate for as long as possible. I had already given you two verbal warnings, an official /warn and spoke with you twice about being inappropriate; the next step was to temporarily remove you to protect the other community members. I issued you a 24 hour ban, took a final screenshot and logged the evidence.

Incredibly, we are not done. While posting my logs for the Staff to review I noticed you were making jokes about child molestation in public chat:

Mr. Fesh there are many reasons your behavior was unacceptable that evening. I gave you every chance to correct yourself for multiple infractions and only resorted to a time-out when it was clear you were harming the safety and health of the larger community.

However your chat at the end is completely unacceptable: No mention of child molestation or pedophilia is ever tolerated. Our players are predominately young and these topics are deliberately and permanently harmful to them; it does not matter if you were making a "joke" in poor taste-- you are introducing a concept to young children that is exceptionally and wildly harmful.

You are banned for a minimum of a month.

During this time please examine your behavior and how your actions may be harmful to children who are simply trying to enjoy a block game. If you are trying to be funny, edgy or cool you can find those opportunities somewhere more age appropriate-- this is not the correct place for that. When you return to the community please keep in mind the average age of our players and avoid topics and speech that could harm them.
