Accepted Appealing 3 Day Ban on .Net[Accepted]

Reason for Ban: "Nazi Jokes"

Staff Member Who Administered Ban: Talia

Context: Someone said something in chat along the lines of "Maybe Talia is a grammar nazi" and I responded with "Maybe Talia is a nazi in general". Yes, it was tasteless, but it really was not meant in a derogatory manner. I've had nothing, but pleasant interactions with Talia previously, and it was at most, a tasteless joke. I don't expect Talia to take it as a joke because we don't know each other very well. I'm certainly willing to apologize for that. I just wish it to be known that their was no malicious intent behind it.

Reason for Appeal: I would (of course) like to be unbanned from the server as I have been playing every day for a couple weeks straight, but I am at least requesting that the sentence be a little less severe, as 3 days is the maximum punishment for the comment that I made, assuming that it is taken as staff disrespect (which I've already stated was not my intent). I'm certainly not going to justify that I said it, and can promise that it will not be said again. Additionally, this is my first offense of any kind; I've never gotten so much as a warning for saying something in chat. I think that speaks a bit to how I'm not the kind of person to make inappropriate jokes or disrespect other players, it was a one time misstep. I'm generally a very friendly and helpful person on the server. Thanks for taking time to read the appeal!

Due to the reason 'Neo Nazi' attacks I find it incredibly rude and insulting to have people joke about Nazi's. People died because this group of people and it's not okay to joke about it. Why did you think it was okay to do this?

 

I don't think what I said was okay. It just was not thought through at all, hence why I'm appealing for this. It's not like me to say something like that, hence why it is a first (and last) offense.

If you'd like to talk on discord about it, I'm definitely willing to do that. If you could get on there so I could apologize over voice instead of text, even better.

 

I'd like you to restate the rules in your own words.

 

Specifically in regards to staff/player disrespect: Respect all other players and all staff members on the server. Don't argue, fight, flame, insult, or do anything to result in conflict with others.

In regards to chat rules: Keep all chat G-PG rated. Avoid slurs, racism, sexism, homophobia, discriminatory behavior, spam, name-calling, swearing etc. Generally keep everything appropriate for young audiences.

These are the areas I'd say my behavior was in violation of. If there's another that I missed let me know.

Alrighty:

/Nick Command Abuse: Don't impersonate other players or use the /nick command to be disrespectful to anyone, or inappropriate. If told to change your nickname, do so.

Advertising (Externally): With the exception of live streaming and video platforms like Twitch and Youtube, and with the exception of other servers owned by Noobcrew. Do not advertise other servers or IP addresses.

Advertising (Internally): Obey the spam rule; don't advertise your island, tradeshop, skin competition, drop party etc. more than once per page of server chat.

Security Threats/Attacks: Do not attack, or threaten to attack another player's machine, internet connection, or Minecraft account in any way whatsoever.

Private/IRL information: Do not disclose personal information of other players without their consent. Including, but not limited to photos, personal statistics, location of living, etc.

Staff Impersonation: Do not impersonate the staff in any way, including threatening to ban/kick players who don't know that you lack the permissions to do so.

Ban/Mute Evasion: Do not use other Minecraft accounts that you own to log into, play on, or chat on Skyblock.net if you are banned/muted on the server.

Sharing Dangerous Links: Do not share links to any dangerous websites. In general, only use Skyblock.net links and Youtube/Twitch etc. links on the server.

Scamming: Self explanatory. Don't steal items from people or treat them economically unfairly in any way.

Griefing: Don't destroy creations or steal things that belong to others. (Really only possible through glitch abuse/hacking now).

Inappropriate Names/Skins: Don't log onto the skyblock.net server with a name/skin that is inappropriate for younger audiences.

Trading Rules: Don't scam other players or trade illegal items. Illegal items include, but are not limited to white sand, buckets, dirt blocks, and all ore blocks. (I don't know them all off the top of my head, because nobody trades them.)

Glitch Abuse: While not explicitly stated anywhere (to my knowledge), abusing glitches without permission on every server to exist on every game ever is illegal. Thus, it is an implied rule to report all previously unknown glitches, and not to abuse them without permission from a staff member (i.e. sand converters).

In summation, use common sense.
