i alredy had my first day of high school but i was wondering if anyone had any tips on surviving high school lol
There must be bullies like always. So always ignore bullies and ignore anyone trying to let you down or let you feel sad/negative.
From what I remember, the only thing I struggled with in Year 7 was asking for help, especially when I was lost around the school. My advice is don't be afraid to ask for help. Also, if you want to make friends, join clubs so you can make friends with similar interests than you.
.Do ya homework (or you will be like me who got 10 detentions but i didnt go to them ahah) .go to lesson in time and also go in school on time before the bell .listen and pay a attention (this one was hard for me lol) .Stay Organized .go to bed early (cuz alot of people dont do this and end up tired all day) .dress smart as always (cuz my school is stricted on this rule) .Dont start drama with people .Take Notes .Always Take your own pencil and pen (cuz stupid ppl always ask you for pens when they dont have one) .Make Friends .Dont take your phone in lesson (cuz the teachers will take it off you and never give it you back rip) .Ask For help if your stuggling with the work your doing .Stay in school but since im gonna be year 11 soon i will say dont mess with year 11s xD cuz some of them can be mean as hell to little year 7s but at first you will get lost in the first week cuz HS is hugeee! i honestly was scared when i first joined but yup GoodLuck kido (edit: aslo forgot that there are three detentions there is a break one and a lunch one and a after school one so if you miss tbe break detention you will then get a lunch detention and if you miss that you will have to stay in school for a hour while everyone is going back home and if you miss that your pretty much messed up and if your late to lessons or late to school u get whats called a late gate and you will have to stay behind in class while everyone goes to lunch or goes to break and if your late to school you have to go to the office to sign back in and write on a paper on why your late and you have to go to lesson and hand that paper in so you will be fine with that one and also if you have school dinners you can have a lunch pass while means you can go in font of the line and if you have pack lunch you can just sit down lol but yea thats it really
Don't take classes just because your friends are taking them. Choose your classes based on your interest and goals in life. You'll appreciate doing that by your last year. It's not a bad idea to have a social life but don't get caught up into it. It won't matter by graduation. This is kind of a DUH type of advice, but avoid peer pressure. Drugs and alcohol look glamorous at the time but I promise you it's not worth it. Good luck! Have fun with this new section of your life, it'll go by quickly
Don't let your stuff get stolen. At the beginning of the year I had £30 worth of equipment and by the end of the year it was all stolen.
I'm not in high school quite yet but my brother is. He has told me that you should: Not procrastinate (Even tho he does) Get involved Take notes I'm not saying to be stuck up to teachers but be on the teachers' good side
For year 7 I don't remember being too nervous: my main thing was: 'I'm gonna get lost!' My high school was like 4x the size of my old school: my tip based on that was just ask your teacher, 'Where's the science block?' or 'Where do I go for PE?' things like that. But another thing I'd say is just don't stress about it: being relaxed probably helps with going into a high school. Remember not to fall into the wrong crowd, and finally: be yourself!
alright so to be completely honest, in high school you're gonna get unorganised. you're gonna dislike people and there'll be people who dislike you. people will try and pressure you into things, and youll put pressure on urself. the biggest advice id give is that if you notice something wrong happening, just ask yourself what you should do next time to make sure that doesn't happen make friends with people because you get along with them, don't make friends with people bc they're 'popular' or whatever be kind to people
I'm in junior year of high school so I'm pretty used to it all. Enjoy yourself while you can. Get involved with activities, go to Homecoming, proms, all that jazz. Try not to be shy, let yourself out!! USE YOUR LOCKER. I hate seeing freshman with massive bags because there are lockers for a reason! Keep organized because you need to take a lot of notes in high school. Good luck on your adventure through the new school
Hey Elvis_7 im a senior, a 12th grader : ) First, get to know your school. Two, open up and make some friends, you'll be surprised on how many people will become your friend . Third dont smash, let it pass And do well in school.
