Clarification for Forums alts (punishments)

the following is the current forum rule regarding forum alts:

According to recent things I have found, there have been people who created illegal alts. I feel as those individuals should have received a punishment, as they followed, rated, and posted on those alts. It is against the rules and the rule clearly states that people shouldn't make alternate accounts. My suggestion is clarifying and adding a designated punishment for illegal alts. There is currently not one standing, and the fact that people have gotten away without a real punishment is unfair to other members of the community. This suggestion would also give mods a guideline for alts punishments which would help avoid possible bias. If anyone has more input, feel free to add.

anyway, whats the point of adding punishment?? the alternate acc gets perm banned and people move on.

 

It's against the rules. It can be used to rate your own posts, and raise your ratings count. Meaning that the individual can rate their own posts with the alternate account. That gives them an unfair advantage.

ugh but all the interesting s*** that ever goes down on this sad forums site involves alts tbh, why punish someone for providing ENTERTAINMENT

 

I wouldn't punish them for entertainment, but rather for the fact that they give themselves unfair advantages. There is nothing wrong with entertaining people on the internet with a made up illegal couple, and fake drama. What I am pointing out is all the unfair advantages that can be given.

There should be stricter punishments for alts. Support.

It is my way of helping enforce the rules to keep things fair for everyone.

Very true, I wasn't technically enforcing the rules. However, if you wish to check, Alts are against the rules. You have pointed out to me that you have been on longer than me, so I imagine you already knew that. But you are right, I'm not enforcing in this suggestion, I am promoting it. Trying to give it a more solid foundation. This suggestion isn't me trying to kick you and nyxa out, it's a suggestion that will make things more fair. As a person hoping to help this server become great, I am suggesting things and trying to help out members of the community. I make this suggestion because I believe it is for the greater good of the server.

amy please stop. there is no need to fight and derail the topic of this thread. I have made it clear that I don't hate you guys, and that I am not doing this for the sole purpose of punishing you guys for something you did against the rules. The purpose of this thread was to suggest something that would help the whole community. This is the last time I'm going to say this to you. Thank you for your input on this thread.
