The beacon price has been skyrocketing in price since day 1. A year ago they were worth a mear 50 diamonds and now a big fat 200. What has really made the beacon go up in price so much? High demand can't be the answer, right?
It's like the only really useful rare. Heads are only used for decor sometimes. Beacons actually give speed haste etc.
I've always seen it this way; if you were to pay 200 diamonds for 1 power (speed,regen etc.), no one would be doimg that. I've always really seen it as a cosmetic item and a symbol of rarity.
When there was no island protection, beacons were barely useful and no one wanted them. (50 diamonds) Once island protection came, it rose to 150. Now its sitting at 250 due to hoggers (Around 80 beacons are currently hogged)
Hard to say but people feel more safe displaying beacons now a days. It made people want them more and the more people want the higher they will offer to make sure they get it. Sellers than see it and increase their asking price so they can get more. Either that of the devaluing of diamonds. But all this is player done. So blame players if anything
I still remember the days where Mods often have to rollback my island, due to griefers that always take my beacons. I still display it even thou there is no protection back then i brought most of my beacons in late 2012 to 2014
So just curious. You got your beacons back with the roll back, but what of the players who stole your beacons? Did the griefers get their ill gotten goods taken away from them?
Rollback is against the player not the island. If rollback is against player x, what ever the player did between Time a and time b it will be back to the time a setting. Back then if players grief was very bad some mods just do reset on thier islands DirtyNinja was the one who deals with the griefers on my island, he often tp to my island and help check (Becasue im a greifer magnet)
People who have bought beacons for like 100 think "Ah I'll find a noob and tell him beacons are 200 now and make huge profit lol xdxdxdddxd"
on org, spawners used to be worth 65-75k, but then someone *cough* sonnung bought a bunch, and since everyone wanted them, we could sell them for 80-100k. it's what oil companies do. they lower the supply to raise the prices, which means more profit.
I think the reason for the huge elevation in price for beacons is because 1. Diamonds are becoming more common now. 2. You rarely see people selling beacons now.
