hi recently lots of my doggies have been despawning even though they are tamed. idea: add in some way we can save pets. my friend says the name tags can do this but arn't craftable.
Wolves shouldn't despawn, they might be getting killed or pushed. What I suggest is first making sure your island is locked and don't all anyone to visit unless you trust them. Next name tags can be fished and can be bought at the donor warp. If you are not a donor you can find a trusted person to help buy for you.
I dont suggest buying nametags as your wolves are probably getting killed. To prevent their slaughter -as krissy said- just lock your island using /lock. Once your island is locked then if you want to name your dogs soley for the sake of naming them I would recommend buying nametags. Note: tamed dogs do not despawn with or without nametags on this server.
I'd assume that they are either dying, getting stuck in a door or wall, or being pushed. Lock your island, protect your doggies.
Well sometimes my wolves don't follow me to my island, and stay on whichever island I left them on. I mean, this can be why you think they're despawning. ^ I wish there's a way to fix this.
well, thank you everyone ill try fishing for a name tag! (BTW i keep my doggies in a cage where people can see them but not harm them).
Recently the server went down for like a day and I lost all my chickens. Not sure if this was a global occurrence.
I saw a lot a people say that they need to be sitting but they were sitting and I'm 100% percent sure. maybe some guy killed them.
I know you can hit animals through fences, if you are using iron bars I believe people can hit through those as well.
well ok everyone for helping me so far I now know i need to make sure they sit down, and keep them away from nasty visitors. I'll also look into getting name tags to name my doggies! don't forget to visit me at /visit saintsebastian and donate to the Don't-Kill-Doggies foundation at the grave of my old dog who was slaughtered by a griefer. ( i have an old and very, very, very, long history of dead dogs...)
