So, I was digging through the News and Announcements archive, and I found this..

Oh ok Crew. I get it. "We promise that this will not happen again" - "We have decided to go ahead and reset Skyblock.org" Gotcha xDDD
And for those thinking it was the recent reset, it wasn't, check the timestamp.
But anyhow, gg Crew. This is completely sarcastic, obviously. It was 3 years ago after all.

I believe that crew was referring to a different reset, regardless the second reset was not something undertaken lightly.

Crew never intended for the economy to go down to crap, to the point for a reset.

Yeah, so crew had to roll it back 48 hours. Then it happened again, and he reset it, from what I've heard.

 

The server had to reset due to a duping exploit that allowed players to basically have infinite money.

 

Yeah. There was basically no choice. There was a duping problem and crew couldn't do anything about it.

Except reset.
