Stop bumping it so much please. I get a notification every other day because you're bumping it so much.
(By request of the applicant) That's not a man! That's a Duck! Rarely in life are we given the chance to succeed without risking anything. An anonymous username applying for an imaginary authority position? That's free life advice. Let's begin. Thank you. I was told there would be cookies? You decided upon yourself? That's... alright, I can roll with that sir. Some people get tattoos, you decide upon yourself. Sigmund Freud approves. •scrolls up, checks forum section• This question is not on the .Net template, SuperDucky. But thank you for the information, I hope you get to enjoy the wonderful selection of kid's items at your local Applebee's. •clicks• "ProHacks"? That's some rather interesting background to put on your job application, sir. Why not just answer with your current name? Are you getting paid by the /nick? +1 for correctly answering this question. An unbelievable amount of people fail so hard here they make Vanilla Ice look like JayZ. OF 'MURICA!! +1 for 'Murica Is this question on the .Net template? I don't see it, but I refuse to ding someone for 'Murica references. To be fair, France almost ended up speaking German. +1 for multiple languages, but please remove items you do not actually know yet. This has been a pretty good application so far, SuperDucky. I'm mildly optimistic about what's to come. Let me get a fresh drink, make sure the kiddo is happy and give this a serious read. (26 minutes later) Spoiler: She wasn't happy. Someone call the police, you murdered that sentence. You can "bring your knowledge of experience during"? The last time I read something that crazy it was smeared on the walls at an insane asylum. I'm not entirely sure what you are trying to say here, sir. The "right amount of experience"? Can you reword this to not sound like something screamed at a support group for Tourettes? This does not require a [Mod] prefix to accomplish. You can be passionate, help others and give them respect just fine as a normal player. Please rephrase to emphasize how your passion makes you better at banning, muting, kicking and warning people. You have more personal qualifications than a peacock with a mirror. You can be a Moderator because you have the potential of being a Moderator? How do you know; did you tell yourself...? The second half of your sentence ("I don't ignore people/etc") is probably what you meant to say, the first half read like a delusional blog entry. Good to know SkyBlock is not an awesome server. Thank you, sir. Perhaps a rewrite if you didn't mean to say the job you're applying for isn't very good and could be better? This sort of accidental slap is pretty common but still a bit rough to read. Comments added directly to the text in red.You are repeating yourself more often than a glitchy iPod and we haven't even gotten to the "Qualifications" portion of your application. Look here, Stephen King: You need to cut the word count a bit. You've mentioned helping, enjoy, happy, kind and experience so often I'm going to need an insulin shot to handle all the sugar you're throwing at me. Take all of this and move it into your "Qualifications" OR remove your "Qualifications" and rewrite this portion into a better format. Either way please combine your writing so you're not repeating so much. While you're at it: Toss the parables and "for examples", no-one needs to read about how you'd handle a make-believe situation. Accidental burns still count, Ducky. Perhaps rewrite this so it doesn't read like the Moderating team is never available? The person hiring you might be mildly irked that you're flaming on their people and for sure your future teammates will remember you said they weren't doing a good job. You duplicate text more often than a Kinko's. Why does this "go with" the previous question? Below here is simply retyping what you've written above but with less detail. Move everything above▲ down to here▼ and sort it into the appropriate header. This garbage. I can literally close my eyes, scroll past this portion and I will not miss anything. Remove this section, sir. Or ignore me: I'm starting to feel like I'm repeating myself more often than you at this point. OK, STOP.This is painful to read, SuperDucky. The purpose of a job application is to demonstrate why your unique talents fit what the employer is looking for. So far you've repeated yourself more often than a Grumpy Cat GIF, tossed a lot of unsubstantiated claims ("I have the right amount of experience") and now you are openly questioning the reader on your own qualifications. Why are there question marks on all of your "traits"?? I feel like you're asking me to think about whether or not you really are helpful: How does this make you the best pick for a Moderator position? Some of your grammar is so terrible it makes me want to cry myself to sleep holding a thesaurus. If I could give you one recommendation: READ YOUR APPLICATION OUT LOUD TO A FRIEND. Any part that makes you stop and say "Wait... uh..." needs to be re-written. In particular the phrase "minecraft since my 4 years of playing so I think I" made me go into epileptic convulsions. Greenie: Short for "Greenhorn". Synonyms include babe, rube, simpleton, hayseed, naif, simpleton and virgin. It is hilarious to see you making fun of new players on the server in a paragraph titled "Respectful?". "But non-donors' names are in green! So... 'Greenies'!" -- Sorry, the word "greenie" has been around since the 1800s. New players having that color name is a total coincidence... unless CypriotMerks is pulling some sort of incredibly sly reference joke. DO NOT begin a qualification by disqualifying yourself immediately. You go to great lengths in this paragraph to describe why you are only acting mature (as in, pretending). Fix this. Or not--your call. The question mark on this made me laugh until I coughed up blood. Well done, sir. I feel like The Riddler is coming for my soul at this point. Why are you talking about math equations in a section marked for "teamwork"? Teamwork is about recognizing a common goal and using your talents to help the group move forward. Reconsider this section. You have more experience than a JRPG dating game. This is the fifth time you've mentioned "experienced". You're aware there is a template question where you can list this quality? The question mark says it all, really. Honesty is one of those things you can only show, you cannot talk about how honest you are without making everyone doubt you. Remove this. Do not list a quality and then immediately disqualify yourself. "Friendly: I try to be friendly" made me facepalm so hard I lost childhood memories. Ah..... puberty. I remember those years. Remove this section, why does this make you a good Moderator? Did you kill them? Not accusing, just asking sir. Post. A. Schedule. Unless you are volunteering for the midnight to 5am shift you might want to give everyone an idea of when you will be online, sir. Remove everything below this line. Your warnings, kicks and mutes do not count. WAIT. I TAKE IT BACK. You were muted for death threats?? Thank you for listing in your job application that you have given death threats to other players, sir. This definitely affects your chances. Quite welcome, Ducky. I have not seen a composition like this since I volunteered to grade English papers at a grammar school. Get your parent, have them sit nearby and read this out loud to them. You may end up creating an unexpected bonding moment when they help you rewrite some sections. Best of luck, sir. Support Status: Decided Upon Myself To Experience Support Status: 100% (That was a lot of edits)
Successful applications stay "on top of the heap". Visibility gets you looked at, being looked at more often makes people familiar with your name. This is a major component of online propinquity and works to an absolutely insane degree. If you don't want to be obvious about bumping your own thread simply "reply" to an earlier comment and "thank them". You'd be surprised how often this trick is used (with good effect). Check the timestamps on the posts--simply wait a day or so and hit "reply" on someone else's comment to move your application to the top of the list again.
Support You are active. You are willing to make changes, no matter how long it takes. You are passionate about this and it is easy to tell. You have been improving since you have gotten on this server (maturity-wise at least) Good Luck
If you can, please wait until a few people comment on your application before replying, as it causes spam for anyone who receives notifications for this application. I get several notifications a day from this thread. Reply to people in bulks is all I'm saying, to reduce spam.
Bump: Myrmidous got to help me a lot to fix the grammar mistakes. I also added more detail to why I want to be a mod. Lastly I'm bumping because my application is on the 2nd page.
Scroll up slightly, sir. Explained "bumping" about nine posts above this. I'm not supporting the practice, just pointing out that accepted applications stay on top of the thread list. Just "Unwatch" the thread to avoid the notifications. Keeps the spam down a bit.
You need more edits, Ducky. But for now reading this doesn't make me want to find a very tall building to leap from. That use of "there" instead of "their" is still a crime against nature. Please fix.
Bumping: Since I fixed the there to their and fixed a lot of the rest of grammar mistakes I have made in the application.
