Warps.

On one , older server that I used to play on, we used to have a thing called WARPS.
I'm sure everyone knows what the hell a warp is, its a thing probably most common in MC.

I was thinking, it would be could if every player had their own warp to a shop, if allowed by a moderator.
This branches into another idea, ranks.

I'm sure this server wants to be different, and it is. But, I feel like if we added in ranks it would be even better.
"Eric, ranks, really? That doesn't seem cool."
Well, i'll tell you why I think they are cool.

Let's say a player starts off as Guest, or just Member.
They have to complete certain tasks, like get 64 cobblestone, or successfully kill a certain amount of mobs, etc.
After all of these challenges are complete, they become a member, and once they become a member they even have harder challenges to complete, and so on and so forth.

Or you could make up the own rank ideas, etc.

And once they pass Member, they could get a warp to their shop, and I would love to see a /warp full of hundreds of warps, so we could wee what players built and stuff.

Just another sloppy idea I guess.

Totally understandable, any reason why? And by the way, the rank wouldn't have [Guest] or [Member] infront of it, it would just be a different color. Like guests are green, members blue, etc.

 

I never really liked the idea of ranking up on servers, (unless it's the main purpose, like prison.) And /warps aren't that needed, with /visit.

But that's just my opinion. ;p

 

No, it's totally respected.
I just feel like with the ranks, you have something to work towards.
It could also help with keeping the players with something to do other then just building.
Plus, the /warps would be much cooler in my opinion, you could have like
/warp WhiteOnBlacksStore .

Warps would work well for org, but net is too big for them (or at least that's what I think.) And I'm not sure the ranks are needed.

we already have /visit so there is no need for warps and ranks make things confusing or harder.

 

[Pros]:

• Players can have shops that are more conventionally placed.
• Players can make "fun" or entertaining warps
• Can increase donor rank perks.
• Easier and more creative islands not based around /island visit
• Staff can set warps on players islands for investigative purposes etc. (Trust me, very helpful)

[Cons]:

• People can set warps on others islands to use grinders.
• Deathwarps
• Island farming
• Sheep/Mob killing
• Use industrial farms. (Auto farms, Pumpkin/Cactus etc.)
• Trolls may just show up on your island.
• Rules would be needed to be made and changed upon adding warps.

A few years ago org had /warps and based on rank depended how many you where able to set. They're easy and nice to have but they had cons to them, but wouldn't be a problem if moderators made strict rules to prevent abuse. I don't support the ranking up system because that isn't what skyblock is intend to be, it's about survival,building and community and I don't see how a ranking up system could benefit any of those.

TL;DR You have good ideas don't get discouraged, I just don't believe a ranking warp system would be helpful or beneficial to the type of skyblock org/net are and always have been. I do like the warps idea but only if they were properly moderated and managed.
