Safe Trade Staff

Good evening Skyblock,

So recently there has been a lot of scamming going on in Skyblock.net and I have thought about many different solutions to try and prevent this from happening. My idea was to make a group of staff members to become part of the "Safe Trade Team", this is a small group of players on the sever who can solely dedicate their time to catch scammers/thefts for people on Skyblock. The "Safe Trade Team" will have to help people who require assistants from scams/trades and will be able to record trades for people in order to to prevent scammers/thefts to do this to other people as I know how upsetting it can be for someone. I am willing to be part of this team along with other members of Skyblock who are mature, professional, and helpful to other players. There would be an application process like a Moderator application however it will have relevant questions relating to the Safe Trade team.
I have many other things I would make to this "Safe Trade Team" and that would be to set up a Youtube channel for the staff to use to post videos of trades that have not followed the rules of the server. All the staff that are chosen to be part of this team will get Bandicam Pro to record with and also get Sony Vegas 13.0 (64-bit) to edit the videos with if needed. I am happy to buy each member of the staff group these programs in order to help the people of Skyblock and to keep scammers away.

I am aware of the commands in Skyblock already and will leave it up to the staff to decide what commands you think are suitable for this staff group that will be on the server if it is to be successful.

A bit about me:

My in-game name is adammcdon9 and I am a Donor 50, although I am only a couple of months new to Skyblock.net I already have made many friends on there and that is why I enjoy it so much! I like to help people as much as I can and to what I can do to my ability and also have a strange hobby of recording trades for other people. xD

I have played on Skyblock.org one or two years ago and took a break for a couple of months while I took my exams but now that I have finished I am playing full-time on the server (6-14 Hours a day). I live in the United Kingdom and come on from 12pm -1 am daily. I am looking for a role to play in the server that is not as high as a Mod but just enough to help people and to make people aware that I am there to help them.



Any comments or suggestions please reply to this thread and will answer all of them!
I hope you all support me with this that we need a team who can record trades and help stop scammers so that Mods can concentrate on other important stuff and dont have to worry about this as I understand how busy Mods are.

I know I need to be more active on the forums too, not just the server. I will be active on the forums aswell being on from 12pm- 1am daily.

Anyways, this is what moderators are for. All that people need to do is download free bandicam or OBS and just record their own trades if they want to have proof. It's really not that difficult.

 

It comes under my license as I would have got it already. If thats your reason for no support then I respect your choice.

My lord just because one person has a license doesn't mean you can give it away to anyone. Unless you bought the company version that is like several thousand dollars you won't be able to give it away to multiple people. You only get one copy. Plus Sony would revoke your account if multiple people were using it.

 

Its not really about getting the video editing software its about helping people and making sure that there is as less scams as possible on the server. As a new comer myself I have learned the hard way that trusting people with larger/valuable trades or attempting to get repair/enchanting services off people is risky with little to no comeback with out audio tapes, video logs, DNA and fingerprint analysis and preferably a written confession.

Adammcdon9 has been one of the most helpful people and friendly people I have come across so far and I therefore support this idea and him as a person to implement it. Adam if there is anything I can do to help with this idea let me know !!

Hey thanks for your feedback can you tell me what ways there are to be prevented as I see players getting scammed daily and today I got scammed by someone I thought I could trust and lost a Mob spawner from it and this just goes to show that you cant trust anyone you might think you do! There are things called "Trade" Shops, and taking screenshots, getting a mod that's online to watch the trade etc.

I appreciate that there are tradeshops but some things it may not be possible such as single/double chest trades and for high quantities of stuff someone might want to sell that can fit in a tradeshop. Also about getting a mod thats online to watch a trade... do you know how many trades that go on and how busy mods are doing other important stuff, I wouldn't think mods will have time to do this!

Also its hard to pick up trades with screenshots and would just be easier to do it by video, and also I want also to prevent scammers from playing on this sever not just watching trades. Thanks anyway for your view.

 

Yes, I do know that mods may be busy, but not every time. It's always worth a shot to ask
