Your in-game name: Serif_Marak Which timezone are you in? Mountain Daylight (GMT -6) Which languages do you speak? English, and settling in to learn Spanish for potential work opportunities. Have you ever been banned? (if yes, why?) If I have been, it was console way back when, but I am relatively certain that I have never been banned, Why do you think you should be a mod? Friendly I am active in chat and generally very approachable for any questions. I have been called out several times as, and this isn't so much a direct quote as an approximation, 'the only person that didn't tell me to get lost'. The only time I tend to ignore someone is if they are begging for things, not help. Helpful I tend to be very helpful, going so far as to use over a stack of my own iron to build someone a wood generator. That isn't typical for my level of help, but the person in this instance never asked for anything close to that, and I happened to be in a particularly good mood. I have built several simple powered stone generators for newbies who were just trying to get started and were having trouble gathering resources, as the lava kept trying to eat every block. Active Despite working a full time job and currently going to classes to become an EMT, I am on this server an awful lot throughout the week. I'll expand on my availability later in the application. When I am on the server, I tend to be actively involved in the chat. When Mods are not online, I warn users about rule violations and try to help some avoid breaking the rules as I can. When they persist in being a disturbance, I file reports on the forums. How long can you be active on the server every day? Monday 3PM-4:30PM Tuesday 3PM-4:30PM I work from 6AM to about 3PM and currently have EMT classes on Monday and Tuesday nights. Availability on these two days will be opening soon, with the end of classes. Wednesday 3PM-9:30PM Thursday 3PM-9:30PM Friday 3PM-10PM Saturday 9AM*-10PM *Every other Saturday, I currently have EMT class, and this will be followed with testing. Availability on Saturday when I do not have class or testing starts at 5PM at the latest, usually. Sunday 9AM-9:30PM Do you have any past experience as a moderator? None recently, though I used to be staff on several different fanmade games, and played a part in moderating forums and in game chat/reports, as well as some small-ish game clans (25-150 members) that required a LOT of effort when not online. I used to have to organize squads for training, set up the training curriculum, get the members to adhere to the training curriculum, and then twist arms to get people to show up to the operations. I am used to herding cats at this point.
~Be more active on the forums ~Add more information to the Why do you think you should be a mod? section Neutral
I feel that any reasons I could have added to 'why I think I should be a mod' were answered in the following sections. At this point, I am leaving my application to sink or swim. As far as activity on the forums goes, I am on and perusing regularly, but my primary interaction with this community is in game. My general activity level would likely increase, but only because of my duties as a Moderator. I am not going to superficially increase my activity to get Mod. In any case, the majority of my posts are in the Reports section. So, right where I figure I ought to be considering my application. I'm not applying to be a social butterfly. I am applying because there are too many gaps where Mods aren't on, we're losing several good ones, and I'd like to think I could fill the role to at least a satisfactory degree. Thank you for your comment, and hopefully, your support in the future.
Personally, I think that no one needs to add that much to the "Why you should be a mod" section. As long as they get the gist of it, it's okay. Having an in-real-life job could be hard work while being a mod on skyblock, a large server, especially as an EMT. If you can't be active each day as a mod you could easily get demoted. 90% Support. Good luck!
There's a lot of Mods that I don't see online every day, so I am relatively certain (hopeful) that being mostly (not entirely) MIA on 3 days of the week won't be an instant DQ. Besides, as an adult, I can't afford not to work. Haha
Enjoy it while it lasts.... Being an adult is kind of like being in prison. Only you have to pay for your housing, your food, your healthcare, as well as the water in your toilet, and someone to dispose of the garbage you produce. Not to mention that as a single adult, you lose over 30% of your income to taxes right out the gate. Being an adult is kind of like being in prison. Only, instead of bars, we have bills.
No support. Mods need to be active on the forums, it's a whole new level. They need to lock threads, deal with ban appeals, reports, etc. So being a mod involves both! Also, I've seen you haven't accepted negative feedback. I don't know about your in game activity.
Does it, though? I've already addressed the issue you presented. I am not going to artificially increase my posts. Sends the wrong message. I will, however, end up increasing my activity on the forums if I become a mod because of the duties. Which I've already stated. And, again, as I've already said, I am not applying for some social status. This isn't a popularity contest. So my increased activity will only be because of my duties, not because I am everyone's best friend. I have not been unaccepting of negative feedback. I've replied the most to it so far. I have addressed the issues in a way that I would say is satisfactory. Now, you've stated your opinion, invalidated as it may be by previous responses, and received the same reply as the last. Thank you for your input. Now please stop replying to this thread simply to be confrontational.
'Ello I do not understand, I searched it up on google but that didn't help. More detail please. oo Since I have no reply to the application, I'll dig deeper. True. To be completely honest I think you'll be an awesome mod. 100 % support!!
From East to West in the US it is Eastern, Central, Mountain, then Pacific. But because GMT shifts depending on daylight savings, I've kinda given up on keeping track of that. I think I'm either -6 or -7 depending on the time of year.
I really believe you could be a wonderful mod, sweetie. But being blunt and lacking information are two totally different things. I believe you should add some things about yourself that you're adding to the team instead of just saying you could be an important aspect. It's like school, there's always and why, how and when? Just take a little more time on it and get more active on forums, otherwise I completely support you.
