"Skymall" (original project) problems.

    (This is my very old account, don't judge :p)


    Hello everyone, and as many of you know, I've been building a massive shopping-mall on my island. There is a thread about it, but here are some quick infos for who you do not know about this project:

    - 16 shops one being "special"
    - 1 animal farm
    - 1 drop-party area
    - 1 cafe
    - 1 maze
    - 1 SSCA
    - 1 fountain with an relaxing area in the middle (glass roof, unique shape)


    So the last couple of days I've been thinking but keeping to myself: "Is this project really worth the risk?"
    Yes, everyone tells me that they won't grief or whatever. But I've heard that many times in my life.

    And what about navigation? I've put very many signs up on how to navigate, including a mini-map, but do most people read signs? Nope.

    Solved!Some donators keep changing the spawners at the mob spawning area, against my will (I put highly visible signs on the spawners and at the entrance. The only solution I see is to get cypriotmerks to only allow certain people to change those spawners in the area. Solved!

    And people have been telling me that I should expand. But what I've been seeing, is that other people are copying this idea and making their own shopping-malls.



    Options I have:

    Reduce the number of shops to 5-7 making grief more unlikely and making navigation easier.
    Ask cypriotmerks to only allow certain people to change the spawners, or close it down.Solved!

    Edit: Just thought of another option: Completly redesign the mall on it being two stories high and not that wide. This would take a while though.







    If you have fully read this through, please leave constructive comments bellow on what you think. Please give me more ideas or options.

    I don't know how your spawners are set up. If they are in-ground (like at /warp animal), I suggest placing a piece of carpet over the top. This should prevent players from changing them.

    As for Set up of the mall, with people getting lost, that happens in the real world too. Its just how they are. One could maybe make a handheld Map if the mall is in the right spot. But Maps are so fickle.
