Requested bans

How do requesting bans work on the forums? Cos I have requested one on the past and apparently they can't ban you on forums when you request, but can ban you in game if you request it.

Thing is, I've seen multiple times people be banned when they requested it, but when I asked, it wasn't allowed? Could this be explained please.

Take Dough for example, he asked for a ban and he got it.

2Spooky4Me requested a 10 day ban and got it, but I did? Confusing. So ya, someone enlighten me?

People do that by breaking the rules or something, so they get banned once they quit

 

It takes a while to get unbanned from any ban on forums if its perm.

 

There are other ways, most definetely, but most people like TeamTyler do that

 

I think you guys are completely missing the question. I was wondering if requested bans are allowed, and if they could be explained. Because when I requested a ban I was told I wasn't allowed on forums, but was allowed in game. Thing is, I see multiple people get banned for requesting one, such as Dough or 2Spooky4Me

 

Requested bans are done in-game because the player can easily be unbanned. On the forums, however, the only way for the player to be unbanned is for the ban to expire or for a forum administrator to unban the account. Requested bans are not done on the forums because of the tendency for players to request an unban before the ban expires. Some forums bans are given in the event that a player's account is compromised and needs to be banned for security purposes.
