I don't know if this has already been suggested.
But I think we should have a /report for when we want to report someone while mods aren't online.
Obviously, we can report them on forums. But if someone, maybe a new skyblocker who didn't know how to get an account on forums/use forums wanted to report someone in public or private chat they can just do /report.

Just thought I'd share this with the world.

UPDATE: I forgot to mention this earlier, but I meant for the /report to be only used for the chat, like if someone was advertising, sending threats etc.

The big issue is how can staff be given proof through the command. We need proof to take action.

This suggestion seems targeted towards chat offenses. If there is a way a specific chat message could be reported and staff gain a copy of the message and which ign said it then it can be worth it.

Otherwise we couldn’t do much with the report except chase up users for evidence that they likely wouldn’t have because they think /report solves everything.

I'd have to agree that it would be hard for this to be effective as reports need evidence for something to be done about it. Unfortunately, it could potentially be abused: it's so easy to do so players may find it funny to spam it with things

I do believe that it's a good idea, however, as mentioned above there would be a massive issue with gaining evidence through it unless the command were to be used like this:

    /report <username> <evidence URL> <message>

I'm not even sure if such a plugin exists.

Plus, if it's solely for chat-related offences and it would message available/online Moderators, I'm sure they would be able to see the offence in the chat anyway.

Neutral. We can add it for chat offenses related but it wouldn't be helpful for other stuff. The thing is, there are always people who will abuse it and we don't want some pointless "reports" mostly troll reports on people who haven't done anything wrong or something.

We already have /mail send (name) that we can use and I believe most of the community is nice enough to help out people anyways (well I hope they are). But I feel like whenever someone asks something in chat, most of the time, someone else will reply to it. I see that difficult questions tend to be ignored, such as information staff or developers would only be able to answer, or when someone is looking to buy something difficult to obtain, etc. But helping someone to get on Discord or the forums isn’t hard to answer.

    1. Can be abused.
    2. Helpful for when mods are not online *AHEM* BertBerry
    3. Proof needed, What Krissy said.
    4. We have a discord server where mods should technically be on all the time. If you have mobile Discord, you should be able to receive notifications when someone talks in a text channel or tags you (depending on your notification settings).

I would love this myself, and it can be useful for people who like to follow the rules and who likes others to follow the rules, but think that this can be used by anyone against anyone, and some jack(bad word for butt) people can easily spam this command, easily sending notifications to staff members and they won't know if it's real or not. Just think about the outcomes with these types of things. Great idea though!

I think if this was to be implemented, it would have to have a GUI where you can select what you are reporting them for (e.i hacks in MA, spam etc) to stop people typing other stuff, and maybe the report should just be used as a 'this person has been reported, keep an eye on them' sort of thing.

When you say GUI, do you mean the screen how you have the boxes (like opening a chest) and you have different options to choose from and you click on one and it brings you to another menu?

Yep, a GUI or graphical user interface

Neutral, I like the idea, but you can't attach a screenshot or video to the report in-game.

The only way this could work is for reporting hacks in mob arena, where it's likely to be a repeated threat, but then again the mod handling it would have to watch them and there's no guarantee they would go back and do the same thing in the arena.

I just feel like it's a lot of hassle for something which won't necessarily work. Forums still remains the easiest form, especially as all the reports filed are in the same place!

I would like to add to this idea that this command would be meant for when staff members are not on right? Well I feel like since you can't do what Blyx said, this command would be MOST useful when a staff member IS on, just to get their attention or something. And maybe if someone uses the /report command and it is sent to a staff member, maybe it can do a little sound or something if that's possible.

    Neutral,

we need evidence of the players what ever what horrible things they did,

This could be a good option for hackers if they stayed quiet and did /report

I personally like the idea apart from the reality of not being able to post the evidence. If there was some way to link screenshot/videos, I'd support.

No support. If a mod isn't online, a player should be able to mail them. When they get online, then the evidence could be used. I think having a command like this wouldn't be effective when /mail send and forums exist. If there is a new player, it's pretty simple to let them know about /mail send. I feel like mods are on most of the time, or at least a trusted player that can notify mods about issues. Sometimes as well, there is a lot of evidence that would not fit into the small skyblock chatbox. It's also difficult to put the evidence out with screenshots. That's why we have discord and forums. It seems like an okay concept, but it just wouldn't work.

Support, I think this could only be done for chat messages though. Maybe if you right clicked or scroll-clicked a player’s message it could open up a GUI with a bunch of different rules listed on it, a player could click on the one broken and staff would get notified. The proof would be there because you’ve reported a line of chat. For mob arena hacks and griefs though, it would have to stick to the forums.
