[.Net] Island Expansion

On my main island at .net I have a complete floor level within my chunk boundaries and adjacent to my boundaries there's an island that hasn't been active for months and it's just dirt with an obsidian block on it and a tree.

I just kinda wanted to expand that way.

It seems to be vacant, is there any way we could possibly expand towards them in order to make our island bigger, or is that a waste of time and effort? ​

 

You can only expand to your island's limit

 

Alright I figured I just have see islands that are combined because friends got lucky enough to have islands spawn next to each other

 

Yea, that's how you get double islands. If you want an island next to theirs, you can look and see if anybody has an island next to theirs, buy it and join their big island

That's one of the reasons I wanted the one next to mine, I mean I'm still willing to pay for it but there's nobody on it in order for me to do that

You can't expand more but if you have a neighbour. I have 2 neighbours

Thee limit would be 99 by 99 according to how you measure it. If it were from one edge to another, 99 by 99 would be correct, from bedrock to one of the boundaries would be 49.
