Hellow there, I have only recently started playing skyblock.net and I have to admit that I find the chat incredibly difficult to read. All of the white text merges together and I cannot see what my island buddies are trying to tell me. I know that some people, presumably people with ranks, have the ability to 'colourfy' their chat. This makes it so I can read what they are saying more easily which is why I assume it belongs to a rank, which I understand, for my suggestion is to give ranks a different default colour chat (instead of being white). This would make it so that there aren't paragraphs of white chat wherever you look, but also still give players with ranks the ability to still change their text colour if they chose for advertisement or whatnot. My second suggestion for the chat system is a different local colour chat to help with the white paragraph chunks and my last is to change the colour of /msg chat (/pm /m). Ps. This might just be because I come from a different server, but I still thought I'd leave this to see if other people would like to see this suggestion implemented to improve this wonderful server. I do find it annoying how quickly the chat fills up when trying to have a conversation. If you are playing with a partner or group, perhaps a better function would be the ability to filter chat. One example would be to have private group chat where you type normal messages that only show in chat to people in your group (not general chat) and messages from general chat are not shown in your group chat.
No worries. To elaborate, as a new player I get lost in the white text, and I feel like that myself, and other new players do too. Attached below is another server's chat. /msg text is in blue and trade chat starts with a '(T)' to signify it as well as global with (G). Different ranks differentiate between colours to also make it easier to see. I don't have an image of prime time of skyblocks chat, but it is something similar to the second image. I hope this clarifies for you. If you still disagree, no worries!
I see. Still going to have to no support this, but I might be able to ask one of my close friends to script a mod that does this. After all, it shouldn’t be too hard to create- /msg may be an issue though as I believe that uses a third party plugin.
While I don’t really support this, I’d that people with dyslexia or other issues with reading should have a better backlit text option on minecraft.
I understand where you’re coming from. However if the default chat colour was changed (for example to yellow) it would still get muddled in with all the colours in chat from advertisements and things. (I think that is what you were suggesting - let me know if I misunderstood )
Ahh yes! I see why you thought that, sorry for my miss explanation. Each rank would get a different default colour and then they would be able to mix it up with colour codes if they chose.
No support. If you want to privately chat with your friend or something and chat is bothering you then you can always type /quiet and msg him privately as other people texts wont appear. And a feature like that isnt really needed here, you'll get used to chat eventually
