I am not 100% sure but I seem to remember the limits coming in around the time there was a surge in afk farming and server lag.
Relies on selling items though, on economy money is the currency, having farms on skyblock only work if you can sell the items you farm
I see. I'm not arguing that economy's limit should be raised to 4 I was just wondering the reasoning behind allowing 4 on survival.
I don't think the way you sell items is really impactful enough to merit a difference in allowed accounts. I feel like it's for another reason and that's why I was wondering
That is the reason, it's farms. The equivalent of making infinite money on economy is like making infinite grass blocks on skyblock. You don't have to sell your balance after you get it on economy, but on skyblock there are very few items to farm the main being gold, which you have to rely on other people buying to make grass because by itself it won't get you anything. The other reason is the lag, 4 accounts on skyblock auto killing a few spawner farms is a HUGE difference than 4 islands filled with 100,000 dirt auto selling every 45 seconds creating over 2000 entities per sell per island with all islands constantly doing water updates
