Yeeees! I picked up the Ocarina recently, it's a really fun and different instrument, not too tricky to get the hang of. Very loud, though (or at least my soprano English pendant is).
Eh well as I said the Ocarina is fun and different. Depends on what you're looking for: a social instrument, a quiet instrument, a classic instrument... You could try something like a piccolo, which can be loud or quiet, is relatively cheap, and a pretty normal/common instrument that can be played in an orchestra/band
I was picturing an acoustic but it's up to you if you want a solid body. I have an electric solid body uke, but my amp broke and my new school doesn't do concerts so I don't use it too often.
You make a good point. Not sure how I had such an oversight, how else am I meant to get my fix of screaming twelvies and violence? Better go buy a playbox 4one.
