Ok, I've been doing something really stupid and I've been watching things about real life murders and kidnappings (stupid I know) and now that it's night time I can't sleep. I know it's normal, but it's gotten worse, like I can't breath, and I feel like I'm going to cry and I'm shaking, what I'm trying to get at is, do any of you have some way I can calm down and try and go to sleep? I'm really tired but I don't know what to do.
I suggest some reassuring thoughts. This is to mean telling yourself that you're safe and knowing that you're going to be ok. Murders and kidnappings happen, but it's very unlikely any of it will happen to you. What you're going through is common anxiety over some recent information. So breathe, distract yourself with games, books, exercise, writing, drawing, doodling, organizing, cleaning anything really. Just do something to clear your head so you don't think about them as much and they should fade over time as long as you're not exposing yourself to more. If things do persist, consider talking to a parent, family member or school staff just to not feel so alone in this experience. This is all I have to say and I hope everything bodes well. If you ever do need anyone to talk to, there are dozens of people on Skyblock who will comfort you through scary nights.
Think about your happy place...a place where you can find yourself alone with no interruption. Maybe it's a small room in your house where you can curl up with a book. Or maybe it's by the crashing waves of an abandoned beach. Whatever it is, close your eyes and think about it. Let your breathing match the ticking of the clock in your room. Inhale...two clicks...exhale...two clicks. If you want, listen to some meditation music. Preferably instrumental/acoustic songs. Erase everything in your mind and just picture yourself closing your eyes in your happy place. The only thing that matters is you and your mind, body, and soul at that moment. This is something I did in my yoga class once. It really helped me relax before a huge test the next class period.
