Hello, everyone! So for my 1000th post on forums, I have decided to make a moderator application. My name is Alice, or otherwise known as Pizza. I live in California, USA and I am 17 years old. I love to listen to music, watch movies, and I absolutely love to eat pizza. If any of you would like to leave some feedback or constructive criticism, please feel welcome to do so. I'd really appreciate it~

    Your in-game name:
    Pizzaa

    Which timezone are you in?
    UTC/GMT - 08:00 (Pacific Time Zone)

    Which languages do you speak?
I speak fluent English and Korean. I also speak 3rd-year high school Spanish, if that counts.
If situations come to it, the Rosetta Stone app has my back. :p

Have you ever been banned? (if yes, why?)
I have never been banned. I have always been relatively cautious of the rules, and I don't like having a tarnished record.

Why do you think you should be a mod?

I believe that it's time to take the next step in helping this server thrive. Up until this point, I have only been able to help with answering questions, regulating chat, replacing items, etc. I am certainly not saying that this is a concern because I love to help people with these things. But there are many times when there are no moderators online and I cannot assist players who need specific help. I feel that if I become a moderator, I can help to fill in those gaps and finally be able to mitigate server activity without feeling restricted or incapable of doing so. I don't want to become a moderator because of the permissions, mod prefix, or anything else along those lines.
Those things do not matter to me.
I understand that this isn't a sort of privilege to have just to mess around the server. I also understand that moderating is considered a job, in a way, and that this role isn't meant to be taken halfheartedly. I genuinely want to create a better environment for this server and hope that I can do everything in my ability to be useful and serviceable. And I think that I have the potential to do just that.

    Some applicable traits of mine...

    Helpful
My main goal is to help people. I love to make people happy and I love feeling like I've accomplished assisting someone that needs guidance. I think that as a moderator, I will be able to maintain a certain liveliness in my work and service because I can actually aid those who need it. Being a moderator is not about feeling like I am better than someone else and having a cavalier attitude. Rather, I think it is about being of assistance and lifting people up from underneath.
    Unbiased
I treat everyone the same. No matter what race, gender, religion, sexuality, or social class you belong to, I love everyone equally. I believe that as a moderator, you have to maintain an unbiased attitude towards people. Everyone's shoulder to shoulder in my eyes, and I think this is a beneficial outlook to have.
    Honest
I am very honest, to others and to myself. Honesty is a vital part of moderating, in my opinion, because I know that I have to be a trustworthy figure that people can rely on. I tell the genuine truth, and that is very important. Simple as that.
    Respectful
Respect. I respect people of all ranks and all types. I noticed that some people tend to show respect only to players with higher ranks and I feel that that is an arbitrary way to judge people. With respect comes humility, and I think it is important to be humble as a moderator. I am a very humble person and I will respect anyone and everyone. As long as you are not rude or hateful to other people.
    Knowledgeable
As I continue to play on this server, I learn new things every day. Thanks to the forums and fellow players, I know the server's many rules and other basic and essential information. Day by day, it is just a matter of learning the small nuances that make this community the wonderful and unique community it is today.
    Flexible/ Quick Learner
I must say that I am not physically flexible. AT ALL. I can't do the splits or anything like that (lol). However, I am a very flexible person when it comes to learning new things and taking responsibility over something. Why? Because I am open to suggestions/change/etc. and I am willing to adapt and learn how to moderate as effectively as possible.
    Kind
In general, I am a very kind person. I like to be nice to people and I like to show my politeness. I think being kind is the key to gain people's trust and to communicate more effectively with them. I know that it is extremely important for moderators to be kind and not rude to people in order to maintain positive moods in chat and also to maintain a pleasant aura overall.
    Patient
I think my high tolerance level comes partially because I deal with my rowdy, obnoxious younger siblings everyday LOL. Well whatever it is, I am very patient with people. Over the years, especially after my younger siblings grew into a pair of wild toddlers, I have developed a prominent sense of tolerance and patience. I think this is a favorable trait to have as a moderator because there are many things you have to take care of and because they can get a bit hectic, you need to be very patient with not only the people you are assisting, but also with yourself.
    Mature
As a lot of you may know, I love to joke around and have fun. I am very random and silly and I talk about pizza more than I should. I think having an enjoyable time is a vital part of communicating with everyone. However, there is a certain time and place to be serious, and so I know when to be mature and professional. Though I am only a senior in high school, I am capable of being well-ordered and adept in my affairs.
    Fair
One of the biggest qualities that I think make me qualified to be a moderator is that I am fair and just with my decisions. A moderator MUST be very fair, especially when dealing with bans and other related matters. As most of you know, a moderator cannot abuse their powers or allow their bias or background judgments to overthrow their sense of true fairness in their decisions. To be an effective moderator, I know that being fair will help me make sound and unhampered choices.
    Virtuous
I hold myself to very high standards in my life. I am upright in my personal principles and morals, and I know what to expect of myself. I think this is an important trait to have as a moderator because I can stay efficient, incorruptible, and right-minded overall while making wholesome choices in order to help keep the server up and running properly.
    Responsible
As an Advanced Placement student that is also dedicated to extracurriculars, church activities, community service, and family matters, I have many responsibilities that I must fulfill. Though I am quite introverted in nature, I take leadership roles in many organizations (Vice President of the school's LiNK club and math club, Choir Treasurer, Church Youth Leader, etc.) and so I have developed a strong sense of responsibility with whatever I do. I am determined to make Skyblock another priority in my life, and I know that when I am dedicated to something, I am undoubtedly responsible with my pursuits.
    Charitable
I like to help people out with items they lost. I'm not too concerned about wealth on this server and I'm willing to give up some personal items to help people that were either scammed, griefed, or just derped out and lost the items. Though it is instant gratification for the other person's part, I think in the long run it's the thought that really counts. So I think this is a good trait I would have as a mod, because I would also be charitable with my time spent helping people. I still remember one time when I was a green bean, a moderator helped to replace some items I lost to a scammer during trade. That act of kindness still lingers in my brain and so I strive to be that kind of person on Skyblock.
    Open-minded
As I have mentioned before, I am very unbiased and unprejudiced. That is because I strive to keep an open mind about everything and everyone that I encounter. I am very approachable and I love to be exposed to new ideas and new interests because that is what really makes people unique. I feel that as a moderator, it is necessary to be open-minded because you deal with many kinds of people/problems/opinions every day, and in order to keep things positive and clean, you have to be impartial and accepting of all.
You are always welcome to talk to me about anything. Whether it is a problem you have in real life or a problem you have on this server, I am always willing to give advice. Or, if you just need someone to rant to, I'm here for you!

How long can you be active on the server every day?
I have school from 6am - 3pm, with addition to choir rehearsals, club meetings, church activities, and other extracurriculars so here is the basic, honest outline of my available hours on Skyblock. Of course, once second semester rolls around, I'll be on about 5+ hours a day. (note: I'm listing the hours that I will be completely active. I am not including the hours that I may be AFK or idle in-game).

    Monday:1-2 hours

    Tuesday:1-2 hours

    Wednesday:2-4 hours

    Thursday:2-4 hours

    Friday:2-5 hours

    Saturday:3-6 hours

    Sunday:3-5 hours

On vacations (like holidays or summer break), I will most definitely have more time (sometimes all day/night) to spend on Skyblock. Yay!

Do you have any past experience as a moderator?

I only have experience moderating on a few small servers (no more than 20 people are usually online), and my main job was creating/building new warp areas (like parkour maps) rather than regulating chat and helping people. However, I am definitely willing to learn how to effectively moderate on such a large server as this one, and hopefully be able to contribute to a better community overall.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this application~ It really means a lot to me. I hope you will give me a chance to become a part of this wonderful staff team and help those who need it.

Feel free to ask me any questions! You are more than welcome to inbox me or leave comments below.

    Thanks again,

    -Pizza

    90% support, unless I get to share your pizza. c;

But I have to say, we haven't been talking much lately, but I remember when you were new to the server, and we used to talk quite a bit, you were extremely friendly, helpful and really mature, I hope we can start talking some more, you're a great person Alice. Although I don't go in-game much, I see you're quite active on the forums, and as a moderator, that is one of your main priorities, you'd be a great addition to the staff team, good luck!

You're extremely friendly and helpful. All you could work on would be activity (just a bit, not a lot). Otherwise, 100% support :>

Thanks for the support! In-game activity is definitely something I'm going to be working on.
Thank you so much, Krissy. It means a lot. Your guides really helped me not only format what's important in an application but also take note of other people's work so that I can find my own voice. I may PM you questions later if I have any:heart:
