Lol, what a great thread to get people to say "Cyp will promote mods when he feels the need" etc. Actually dying. But hey, I'm no judge, I would've said the same bulls*** no less than 4 months ago.

On the actual topic of this thread, I love the idea and it's originality, but it won't work. It's just a popularity contest when it comes down to it. On that StrawPoll you got, people are voting and will vote on a bandwagon. Doesn't solve anything. People need to get it through their heads that popularity isn't what makes a mod. Look at me, for example. My application barely had two pages of replies when it was accepted, most of which were my bumps, smh. But it got accepted, and apparently I did an exceptional job during my ~year of moderating, most people tell me. So, I'll leave it at that.

EDIT: Kinda want to add this in, so here. I'd say a little less than a year ago a staff purge did happen...sort of. It didn't happen like it's described here. Basically people who had pretty much dropped off the face of Skyblock (people like Kaylee, creekz, etc) were demoted. If I recall, there were about 10-15 people demoted. But they were inactive. They weren't demoted because they didn't play for 12 hours every day, or because they were gone for a week or two. They were demoted because they had quite literally quit Skyblock. So I don't think anyone on the current staff team needs to be demoted, but there are certainly some people that don't need to be there, if you get what I'm saying.

Tbh having a strawpoll on the forums is more of how popular is the mod on the forums rather then how much they actually help out or is active in game. Many active players don't have a forums account

No need for a purge. Sounds like a really half-assed way of fixing things.
What would work the best feels would bring up a conversation with Cyp and, ideally, Crew.
It's no secret that they seem cut-off from the server and players, especially Crew.

Back when Crew actually spoke with us, things were going smoothly. As he vanished, it slowly but steadily turned into what we have now.
A big issue is trust. Wiping all "unworthy" staffmembers won't really help.

I'm not saying neither are doing a good job. Quite frankly, I don't know, so I'm not going to make a statement on that matter.
But everything revolves around management. About talking. About communication.

 

I do not agree with any of this. I think alot of the staff do there job but some are inactive so id have to agree with you akrill about this whole purge thing.
