My suggestion is to have functionality that allows a person the ability to designate certian buttons, levers, or doors for use by any player. The benefits from this would be the ability to create fun "challenge" areas that require thought or even the ability to use various kinds of Redstone machines designated by the owner. The foremost reason I would like this is for my maze that I am currently working on as it will (hopefully) contain trick walls and hidden pathways. If you have anything to add or just enjoy the idea let me know.
so allow people to use pressure plates, buttons and levers on islands? 50% support. Useful in some way however annoyance to some who dont want people to tamper with their builds that include levers/buttons etc.
Well its going to span as far as an island can, and in all stone bricks. I may also opt to make it a double decker in time. But with that said, it's gonna take time the only way I'd rush is if this thread magically becomes reality ;P In the world guard functionality you are able to use /(command) lines to flag which buttons levers or doors you wish for people to use. Its tedious but would give the discretion to choose what people can fiddle with.
Um, support I guess? Seems like it'd have limited use, plus people can use pressure plates anyway I thought. I guess it could be added, I just don't feel it'd be that necessary.
You're not thinking of how many things could be done with this. It could allow us to create more new player friendly areas such as cobble or stone gens, other different redstone machines, or even fun little games. It's not as much work as you'd think because its an already existing thing, the only challenge would be the implementation of it.
I'm aware that it already exists, my concern is working it around the permission of the players, which is the implementation of it. What I was trying to say I guess
Uh, I still don't see that many uses. I mean, you can make little games, or let people turn stuff on, but that's it? I mean, it just doesn't seem that necessary. I'm not against it, just don't think most people would use it.
I am 100% in favor of this idea. I would like to start a sky block, but don't see the point if visitors can't interact with my creations properly (I am a big fan of redstone). Making sure malicious visitors couldn't mess things up would all be part of the challenge.
