There is no actual purpose to heads, end portal frames, dragon eggs, netherstars, silked spawners, rare spawn eggs, admin heads, or any other rare. The only listed rares above that have some sort of remote purpose would be heads and netherstars, but then there shouldn't be a differentiation between unplaced and placed, and netherstars and beacons. The only reason that they're valuable is that they're collectable; as such, since they're rare, they're priced accordingly to collectors.

Personally, Swim, I know you're quite interested in a Noobcrew head. So tell me then--what's the point of buying it? You can't place it without it losing a thousand diamonds in value or more, and if you planned to place it then you'd just have to look for a placed version of it (but who the hell would place a noobcrew head). Sure, you can /hat it, but that's just to show it off right? You could easily screenshot it or something lol. Also, if you're going for showy rares, then why not invest in something like glitched leaves, or other weird /hats? If you think things are priced according to their ability to be a good /hat, then by that logic glitched leaves should be worth more than noobcrew heads because of their distorted proportions, and their textureless condition.

I know xD You got me there. I was simply arguing the fact that things are often priced by their rarity, and by the difficulty to get them (because the more difficult they are to find/buy, the more desperate some collectors will get, ultimately driving up the price ).
