So I've been doing historical research lately and I've noticed that some of the powerful countries, realms, kingdoms and empires, such as Rome Empire, Ancient Greece allowed gays' publicity. However, all those powers soon or late fell because of barbarians' attacks for example. Recently, USA officially allowed gay marriages in all 50 states, meaning that gays can be completely open in society about their sexual orientation and they even can get married. Now the question: will the same fate meet USA history, will the superpower fall as well soon or late? I'm not getting very deep into politics here, but the current US economy is getting worse and worse every year. Post what you think about this.
I understand, I'm not trying to bring my position about rainbow community in this thread, I'm just interested what you people think about it, if USA will fall as well.
The United States is and always has been falling apart. It's brutally corrupt. It's not like it just started happening.
Correct, the process of falling apart may last for 10 years, 50 years and even more. My research was not about correlations between gays and ancient civilisations, I've just noted this coincidence. No need to be hateful here.
Eh, everyone's on their way out. We're killing the planet. But as far the USA in particular goes, if it falls anytime soon it will be due to internal reasons. Part of the reason we're so underfunded (as far as money from the government goes) is because we spend a TON of money on our military. We could probably protect against outer attack if it ever came, but that defense comes at the expense of good government programs internally, which causes true problem WITHIN the country. I think one thing that a lot of people here don't understand. We are our greatest threat. Not terrorists, not Mexico (looking at you Trump), not Russia or North Korea (although they could f*** up the whole world tbh). We have a HUGE political divide right now. We've been very far right wing for a long time, so now that we've gone a little left, people are freaking out. Unless the two main political sides can agree on something big (or meet in the middle) nothing EVER gets done in the government. One side suggests something, the other side shoots it down. We need to compromise.
Trump is a doll and you know it. Why would a huge businessman become a politician? Yes, American government is paranoid. It is obvious that is not in Russian plans to have a war with USA when both sides have nuclear weapon. America f***ed up a lot of countries (see, Iraq, USSR and etc) and now it is scared. European Union was American doll for a long time as well, but seeing that things in USA are getting worse, they became brave now. I can say that Russia is not a threat at all.
Trump's a joke lmao He just wants the extra spotlight that running for president will give him. He knows he has no chance.
Even if he becomes a president, he will be like Queen Elizabeth in UK. Just a symbol for the society.
Honestly, whether the president is Democratic or Republican doesn't matter. What matters is which side has the majority in the rest of the houses of the government. Because if the president is a Republican and the majority everywhere else is Democrat, his ideas are going to be shot down. That's the beauty of the democratic system, one bad president can't destroy EVERYTHING. Just some things.
But also the ugly side. If there's a great president who has to deal with a majority against him in the other houses, nothing good will get done either. A perfect balance would be nice.
Then we get bloody dictatorship to calm down the majority of people. American ideas of democracy are obviously not that democratic.
The world has been falling, because of USA in cases. I agree with the people above, Recently, USA became the #1 Gas Producer and soon to be, in Oil. Also, plastic should be like worthless now, it's everywhere! Is america trying to run out of un-renewable resources?! We need to think of a better resource that we can rely on, or the whole world is doomed. :/ Not to get deep of anything, this IS a Minecraft Forum site. Take note of that.
We are talking about the world falling apart. The way powerful people get stuff they want is by starting wars. That is completely on topic .
