If I nicked myself 'Crawling' you couldn't do anything about it as long as I didn't claim to be you, staffs names are generally off bounds as it causes confusion and some people will do what a mod says, whether demoted or not.

Common sense is a factor here, it mainly applies to nicknames, not usernames, NICKNAMES.

 

Is it illegal to impersonate someone with their nick? Because like 2 or 3 people did that to me today and made me look bad.

 

No, you don't own the nickname, people are free to take the nickname 'Sean' all they want, all I can do is ask them not to use the same colour as me or act like a mod and it's all fine.

Some moderators have the meaning of nick abuse twisted, the only time it's an issue is if they take your MineCraft name as their nickname, that's when theirs an issue.

 

So Minataur01 was ALLOWED to impersonate me. He was saying stuff like "im gay" and that crap.
