[ORG] Loving the new .Org! Here are suggestions to make it even better <3

    Thank you Noob/Cyp/Tanner/team for new .Org. I was dubious about the reset but the new server is better than the old one in many ways and I think a big success. My ideas so far on how it could be even better:

    1. Silk touch is not disabled on grass blocks - I can confirm that this has been fixed! ;)

    2. Island protection could notify you of who's island it is?
    World guard used to give a notification saying whose island you were on whenever you entered protected space. It would generally be nice to be able to see who my island neighbours are somehow. Also when you find yourself on a cool island and you have no idea who owns it, it would be cool to be able to find out, in case you want to compliment them, or go back there later using /visit ... it would be very useful for both players and mods to be able to see who owns an island, I think. :) Perhaps when you enter protected space it could tell you whose, like it did with worldguard, or maybe a command could be added which when used, returns a message in chat saying whose island it is where you are stood?

    3. /visit is cool, but I also liked having /warp
    I really like the /visit command, it works really well. However... I also really miss /warp and I'm not the only one. Many players have said in the chat they wish they could set warps. I'll list some reasons below:

    * Pre-reset, I used to have 5 warps as a HR+ so with /home and /homes that meant it was possible to have a total of 7 "warpable" locations on my island. I made an island in the void and it was much easier to use /warp to get to it than /home which couldn't be moved. Truthfully, it was part of the reason I got the HR upgrade, because I was annoyed at only having one /warp and having used it up as a second /home. I plan to make a platform in the void again and I can forsee it being a pain to get to it :( More warps could mean more donations!

    * It's also important to be able able to move your warp around i.e. if you want it to be safe for visitors, or if you have different parts of your island which aren't connected (not everyone can fly!). I was planning to have a floating-islands kind of set up for my new island after the reset. I'm not sure the design will work now as any non-HRs will not be able to get between the different shops and areas easily if I can't set a /warp on each platform :(

    * Warp walls were really useful and cool. With no warptastic, warp signs are no longer a thing :(

    * Some players have long/complicated/unmemorable player names. If you have a name like dragon_lord129673 then it's kind of irritating that if you want to set up a shop, players have to type that each time they want to visit you. Not everyone knows about tab autocomplete. The nice thing about /warp was that players could set it to what they wanted.

    * Being able to choose the name for a warp also meant that you could choose a warp name that reflected its purpose, e.g. /warp blocks sold mostly blocks, it was nice and easy to remember. It was useful for buyers too; if I wanted to buy for example sugarcane, and didn't know a good shop to try, /warp sugarcane had a good chance that they would sell it heh. Or if you were looking for a cow spawner ... /warp cows was a good guess. And so on. I think for an economy server, it's important to be able to choose warps for your shop that help you to get customers and are more memorable than your playername.

    * I used to have a "secret" warp which was an enclosed space, for non-public warp wall, trading valuables, and so on. I used to set it as something that was unlikely to be guessed and only tell it to individual people that I wanted to. With the /visit command only, it's all or nothing - i.e. everyone can visit you, or no one can. It's not possible to set your /visit to a word that is secret that you can tell only to people you want to know it.

    4. Personally, I miss Tim The Enchanter ...
    It's nice not to have everyone owning and illegally trading god items everywhere... But I don't see why I can't put efficiency on a sword, heh. I used to like bashing leaves at super speed with one. I wish it was possible to put un-natural enchants on tools, even if /enchant all isn't a thing any more. Truthfully I just really wish it was possible to put any enchant on anything in vanilla, using books and anvils ^^ I liked that it could be done on Skyblock. RIP my framed apple with Sharpness V :D

    5. On the old server, the growth speed of things e.g. crops was increased
    It's not a major thing but I kind of got used to it on old org. Now, it takes aaages for crops to grow... it's somewhat depressing heh. It's not a big deal but it will take me a while to get enough grass to plant a big farm, so the rate at which I'm getting crops is very slow and I'm sure for new players, it's frustrating trying to grow enough food in the early stages of the game. It's something I always found hard enough in normal survival heh, forget when dirt is also limited :p Could cope without it, but I enjoyed farming on skyblock, I have found that now the crops grow at a normal rate, farming is less fun than before. *shrugs* personally, I preferred it how it was on the old org.

    6. Why was the character limit for /nick reduced?
    It's kind of painfully short now. I used to think the old limit was too low, but now I can't even have the same nick I had on the old server. I liked having my full IGN (8 letters) with three repeating colours. Some players liked having a rainbow effect. I am currently limited to either using only two colours, or using a shorter nickname. I don't really see what difference it makes to the server to have longer nicks, so I'd like to see it returned to the higher character limit, personally. Otherwise there will be a lot less fun festive names around Christmas time... :(

    7. There don't seem to be any rules anywhere. >.<
    If there are any, I couldn't find them. I think it would be useful to the server to have a sign at spawn saying where to find the rules, e.g. /warp rules could be rebuilt and advertised at spawn? I see a lot of players auctioning dirt/sand/ice/buckets that simply have no idea it's against the rules. Linking the server with .net and skywars was a good idea, but it also means that there are a lot of new players joining who don't know the rules so... it boggles my mind that the rules aren't at the spawn :/

    8. Not all flowers are available, please may they be added to the shop
    I think the large range of flowers are useful for decoration, and also crafting dyes to make fireworks, coloured wool, dying dog collars and so on. I was so happy when the 1.7.2 flowers were added to shop on the server pre-reset, but they seem to have been missed this time. Also some players have spawned their islands in biomes that can create certain flowers, whereas others do not have this option; I've been lucky and got a really nice biome but I feel it's slightly unfair on others that I have this advantage ^^ So please may we have all the flowers added into the shop so that anyone can buy them if they want them, especially the tall ones used for dye crafting!

    9. Pets plugin is not working properly.
    Mainly, /pet remove is not working, which is very annoying for some people. Also I tried to create a pet today and nothing I tried worked. Apparently half of the pet forms don't work (no permissions) and also, anything but the default didn't work (e.g. cow:baby to make a babby one - can only have adult cow). Well not major but kind of a shame/irritating. Please fix perms so that the pet command works properly to allow cats, bats and baby animals etc. and also so that /pet can be removed without executing it when it gets in the way :p thanks!

    10. Pwnfilter is annoying and doesn't make any sense.
    I bleeps out words like assume, pass ... any longer normal words which contain "a**" or other "swears" which are many. Also a** isn't even a swearword imo. Anyone who actually wants to get round the filter and swear can do so easily by adding spaces or punctuation to their swearword. Pwnfilter is totally stupid, please remove it!
    ... apparently, arse is also pwnfiltered on forum :/ But if you spell it like a Brit, you're fine, lel.

    11. /trust is a great idea but it doesn't seem to work
    Someone's mentioned below that /trust is not working yet... though I assume this is a known bug that the team are working on.

    12. Also, /co-op kick is apparently no longer possible
    Co-ops can leave, but island owners can no longer /coop kick. This has caused a few problems so far. Someone co-oped someone they didn't know on .Org and they are destroying their island as I speak. I feel really bad for them and there is nothing anyone can do for them because there are no mods on to /kick or /ban the griefing player and the island owner can't do anything to stop it happening. I think being able to /co op kick is something owners really need... I'm reluctant to accept a co op, even someone I know and trust, because what if they go inactive without doing /co op leave. It's worrying.

    13. Item frames are not protected
    I wanted to put item frames in my shop, which was commonly done on the old .org, but I've discovered that they are not protected by the island protection plugin, i.e. random people can come to my island and help themselves to the contents of my item frames. It's quite annoying, is it possible to fix this? :)

    14. Fire spread... seems to be on!?
    I think this has been fixed already but I'm not sure.

    14. Many things missing from the shop... most notably, clay and diamonds
    Well, I heard that a donor shop might be being build later and if these things will be in there, that's pretty cool. But if that's just a groundless rumour, at present there is no way to get diamonds on the server. It's kind of an iconic thing, it's weird to play Minecraft without there being ANY diamonds. Also, many people like to use clay for various things... hardened clay is a lovely building material, as are bricks. I believe one of the original Skyblock challenges had a brick fireplace and that's currently impossible to make! :( The hardened clay that was added to the old shop pre-reset was nice and looked good in the shop too imo. And personally, I have a mild obsession with flowerpots. I was a bit distraught to find I can't make any. Someone also mentioned they would like to see coal on the server again; it makes a nice building material, same with emerald and ores. These are things that could potentially be re-added to the donor shop if it is built :) Edit - someone's been asking for mycelium!

    15. It would be nice if full Mods/Smods could refund spawners.

    I didn't mention this initially as I thought it was more a bug that not everyone had their spawners refunded after the reset. But aside from that, I have realised that if you place your spawner, it cannot be moved at the moment. If a player breaks their spawner trying to move it it vanishes. Mods can't currently "pick up" spawners for players. It would be great if we could do that ^^ not just to move them, but also if you wanted to sell a placed spawner to another player.

    16. Auction plugin could block illegal-to-trade items?
    It's common to see people auctioning dirt, sand etc. since the reset. So many new people are joining the server and it's not clear at all that some items are illegal to trade. Perhaps there is a way to disable the auctioning of certain items, e.g. the message that says "you cannot auction damaged items" - could specific things be added to this in config, i.e. dirt, sand, glass, ice, buckets? Then when someone tries to auction an illegal to trade item they get an error message instead of auctioning it.

    17. Spawn eggs aren't working
    Well this is a bug not a suggestion, and you probably know about it, but it would be awesome if this could be fixed :heart: so I've just added it to the list, meh ^^

    18. /kit saplings doesn't exist
    Pretty minor, but it's advertised at spawn. I've seen quite a lot of people asking for help in chat because /kit saplings isn't working for them and as far as I can tell, no such kit exists on the server.

    19. Auction queue is rather short/auctions can be too long
    The auction queue has been reduced to only 2 auctions in queue; players are finding it frustrating to get in the queue. The old limit of 4 seemed to work well, I think most players would prefer it if it was increased again. Also, I have seen an auction for 2 minutes length today, I don't know what the maximum is but I think 2 mins is too long. I think in the past the limit was 1 minute. Also it's minor but I've noticed the default increment is now 10 not 1 which personally I find annoying as sometimes you want to bid an amount that's not a multiple of 10 :p but it's not a big deal.

    20. It's really minor ...
    When you vote, the message saying that you have voted needs two more spaces in it for the second line of the message to go onto the next line!! *Pernickety OCD* >.<

    21. People are getting kicked for spam often from just pressing tab - it's annoying! Any way to stop this happening? Also, I get kicked for spam if I enchant my tools too quickly :(


    I just want to mention that I did not come up with all of these things; mostly they are things that I noticed people discussing or complaining about in the chat, just thought it would be good to compile all the suggestions in one place ^^ but I don't want to take credit for other people's ideas! :heart:


    Well that's all I can think of for now... I think the improved .org is excellent and I'm happy it's proven popular so far. I especially like the new voting system with the crate ... I didn't always bother voting on the old server, now I'm making a special effort to vote as much as possible :) :heart: org is love, org is life!

    10000000% support this! I totally agree with the warps thing.

    I've also noticed a glitch with /visit. If you put a roof over the spawnpoint of your island, when players do for example /visit thedruid2002, they will be spawned on top of the roof and not under it. I don't know if this makes much sense but I hope it does

    Doubt number 1 will get added. When I tried to get it added on the new hellblock, Cyp literally just said to me it's not needed. Which I disagree with, but whatever. I wish it was on there, because people island farmed the crap out of it but no one cared.

    Support all of these. Especially number 1. Island farming is now a big problem for org even though it wasn't really ever before because people can get unlimited grass with grass spread and silk touch. As long as they sell in small inconspicuous quantities they won't get caught. Disabling silk touch on grass seems like a logical thing to do

    /pet remove is gone for a reason, so people won't dupe items with it thats why no one has it.
