Muted and not sure why

    *Note: I'm a noob to the website and the server entirely, so if there's a different place for this kind of thread to go, please tell me. *

    I just joined the server today, and now I can't talk. I wanted to do a skin contest to give away an enchanted Porkchop I got in a drop party; I can't though, as I can't talk in the public chat.

    Any ideas why I might be muted? I would remember spamming/etc., so I'm pretty sure that isn't it.

    Try this:
    Go to your multiplayer settings, look for chat and turn it from command only to on.
    See if that helps
