Rewrite Rules and Allow People to View Reports/Appeals

Almost from the start it wasn't allowed. Its annoying when people reply on appeals just for post count or put their appeal in someone else's. It was just a mess.

In regards to A, I do think the rules need to be more specific. There are some unwritten rules and players sometimes receive bans unjustly.

 

Allowing it would simply be biased. Just because a player who was banned has a lot of friends that say "plz unbna!!!!!" doesn't mean they should be unbanned. Alternate accounts would also come into play.

 

Mods are the last to judge, just Mods can use the input from friends/enemies to help make their decision.

 

Well, friends and enemies would simply be biased, it cannot be helped. I say just let the moderators deal with appeals.

 

it should never be removed. you can have a dev edit it to where only mods and post creator can talk, with an option to ask for privs to give info which has to be approved by mod or something..
but removing it is just wrong. behind the scenes stuff is just shady.
i already saw one case of bs, before the hidden section happened.

I'm not a php dev (which is what XenForo runs on, I think) but I'll look around and see the possibility of allowing thread owners to add other people to access the thread, kind-of like how you can add people to a PM.

 

no support its an international server. We don't fall under american rights and amendments, and they don't have to worry about being sued gotta love them terms and conditions no one ever reads.

 

Option A is not the one I would support, but is simply another working alternative, that may not work as well as Option B but would still fix the problem.

If it makes your job that much harder, let someone else take your spot, because I know people willing to put in that little extra work in order to make this server more fun of a place. Honestly, if you don't want to work that much as a mod, then resign. I don't mean to be rude, I just feel mods should be dedicated enough to care more than just banning, but improving the community as a whole. By falsely banning/kicking players, you remove players from the player base. I appreciate however, the work you do to at least try and improve our community. I just feel that by removing false bans, and helping players become unbanned, we can improve and enlarge our community even more.

Being banned means a huge thing to players. It really outrages me that you would simply keep someone banned just because it is easier for you. This is why the server has seen so many unjust bans, either only based on the reputation of a player, and what they may have done, and then simply realizing it was a false ban, just like that. There are many other threads in which you can see the moderators have judged unfairly, or at least, suspiciously.

You can say my reason is bull, and I actually agree. I realized I wrote it wrong. I do not mean mods are banning everyone, yet more of the fact that people aren't really being unbanned, or that people are being banned falsely. I want to stop false bans, and help good players get unbanned. Because yes, good players can do bad things, but they should be forgiven because they are not bad players.

I won't force my opinion on you, but I hope you can understand my true intentions better.

 

False Bans? Can you give me an example of "False Ban"? People get banned for a reason.

If they want to be forgiven, they can make an appeal.

 

Sure, I'm pretty sure AbruptBalloon1 was recently banned and unbanned falsely (I forget the details, ask him about it.) This is mainly due to his reputation, and yes, he has been banned correctly before.

Also, I want appeals to be accepted faster if they deserve it, and I want their friends to help support them in their appeal. This can tell the mod that the person is a good player who simply screwed up.

I gtg to bed now, I'll defend my suggestion some more in the morning.

 

make it so the creator of the thread or mods can add other into the appeal so then they can add to the thread too.

 

Rules do need to be MORE specific. E.g= No killing players. Includes breaking blocks under them, lava and building death traps.
