I was thinking of this last week. How about donors are able to sethome anywhere on their island. This can be very helpful to players that hate their original bedrock /home. I think this would be a great suggestion.
I do like the idea of being able to move your home... when I was a greenbean, I had a lot of problems with my /home suffocating me until I realised what was causing it (pumkins growing over it!) and I see players with this problem a lot in the chat, asking if they can move it. I also decided to move my main island down into the void and it was a shame that I really had to use my only warp for getting to and from my island, as /home was too far away and irritating to use. Darkie's suggestion is a good one but what if you don't really want a bed in your spawn place for whatever reason? And the problem with having a warp for your "home" is that the number of warps you are allowed is limited, also unless it's something obscure, people do tend to guess it and you may find you have unwanted trespassers. Another problem with just using warps is that before I was a highroller and could use /god, I died many times just returning to my island due to Warptastic lag, despite having a drop into a warp pool. I've never lagged through the floor with /home, I think it's a lot safer though I won't pretend to understand how that works! I do think though that by the time you get to Overlord, most players have just got used to it or found a way round the problem. I don't really see a reason why everyone can't have /sethome as a command, I don't see how it would be abused any more than setting a warp could be. You couldn't use it to make "death-homes" as only you can use your /home command... I wonder if it would be feasible to have a charge of skybucks to use the /sethome command, as then there would be another money sink for the economy, and also deter people from just arbitrarily moving their homes around for no good reason.
One of the main reasons for a lack of /sethome is that people used it to set homes on an island that they didn't belong on. =\
Oh I see.. yes I can imagine this being a problem if someone does this even by accident, then "loses" their island. I hadn't thought of that. I wish there was a way to limit only to your protected island area, that would solve the problem
No support, If there was a unprotected island someone could set their home there and loot them and if they got banned and appealed >_> They could come back on the server to re loot what was roll-backed and a moderator may never notice or check back in..
No support. - It's not needed, if anything it wont help the server. - You can just make a warp and type /Warp [Name] and you will spawn there. - Type /homes in a bed. I believe there is no need for this as you can already make a /homes or a warp. Good Luck
Haha Grace, although I sort of agree with you, what's to stop them just doing that anyway using /setwarp ? But yeah I think that if /sethome could be limited to your island only, then it would be useful, however without this precaution, it would cause more problems than it would solve.
