[Net] A Compromise

Many people want skyblock.net's world to be reset.
Many do not.

Thus, I've come up with a compromise that hopefully both parties can agree to, assuming the solution doesn't lag up the server a ton. This suggestion is simply to add another world into skyblock.net's server. Switching over to this world would allow everyone to start anew, yet keep their old island and things in the previous world. This could be done via portal or command. The inventories between worlds would be different, so there's no bringing items from the current world into the new world and vice versa. Please give feedback or let me know if this cannot be done.

The old world would still lag?

 

The lag is irrelevant, that'll be fixed eventually. This is for the people who want the world to be reset vs. the people who don't.

Nope, I don't think that's how the world plugin works. And besides, it'd be kind of confusing if chat was universal. If one person wanted to buy something from someone else, but it turned out that they were in the other world, they wouldn't be able to trade.

 

In that case, I'm against this. It'll be a pain to constantly switch between worlds to see different trades & messages. If the chat was universal, yes, I'd support this suggestion. (Considering that the server gets enough funds to withstand the lag - it'd be the same as doubling the current server lags) Currently, it's hard for the new players to rise up to the level of the rich, old players, and this may possibly give them a chance.

 

I personally don't want that. I worked extremely hard on my island. I also know others do to, so there for No support, Sorry mind.

 

May I ask why? Your island wouldn't get reset.

 

i actually like the principle of this idea though think the split server is not ideal. I wish this whole restart thing would be put to bed already. I see a lot of players mentioning the wealth gap between old and new players and how unfair it is. Well, its taken players including me a long long time to accumulate some wealth and that's how it should work. If it was too easy to get rich, players wouldn't stick around as long and there wouldn't be the great community that we see here. I am so opposed to a restart it hurts as it would mean the last two years have achieved nothing.

 

I mean like I feel as if that you worked so hard on one, but why create a second world, I also feel that it wouldn't even help the lag at all.

 

You don't have to create a second world, that's the beauty of it.
As for the lag, again, that has nothing to do with it. The major lag right now is due to an issue with the server's DDoS protection, as Cypriot said, and should be fixed shortly.

 

Im neutral on this, because of the chat difficulties and also because some people have already made great effort on their islands. However I do like that other people can make a new island. So yeah 50% Support.

It's really of no detriment to us. I do hate the fact that people waltz in here and after being here 2 weeks think they're somehow entitled to the fruits of another player's two year long labors. It's not our fault you were late to the party, jsut do your best to catch up.

I am a little confused with the different worlds? Do you mean like totally different sections on like minverse?

 

Eh. You'd just have them tell you which world said grief or bridge is on. It's not like it'll get implemented, anyways, though. Just kind of a concept idea I guess.
