Improve/Cheaper Donation Items

At the 'donate' section of the website there is a number of items you can buy with real life $, as most of you would know. This is extremely overpriced when comparing the prices in the donation section to the street value of items. Heres a list if anyone cant be bothered checking:
Pig Spawner $5
Fly Mode $20
4 Pig Spawners $15
8 Diamonds $15
10 Grass $5
12 Iron ingots $6.50
Enchant Table $5
Brewing Pack and Piston Set $6
Enchanted Diamond Pickaxe $5
32 Diamonds $45
All in USD.

Street value says 10 diamonds = 1 dollar. Take the enchanted diamond pickaxe for an example. Most donor100's or so will give you it for free. If you could sell it for $5 then you could potentially buy 50 diamonds with that $5. Or how enchant tables and 10 grass are the same price. Its commonly known enchant tables cost 1 diamond, and 1 diamond is around 20 grass. The prices are the same but 1 item has double the value?

Here is a hand if your gonna buy items from the shop, which I rarely see anyone do anyways. These are what I consider to be the best items to buy from donation items.

Pig Spawner: About 1-2 diamond per dollar (Not 100% sure but its around this)
Fly Mode: Depends on what you value fly mode. I would only buy if your a greenbean.
4 Pig Spawners: Around 2 dia per dollar (Again not 100% sure)
8 diamonds: 11 grass per dollar
12 iron ingots: Like 1 grass per dollar
Enchant Table: 4-5 grass per dollar
Brewing pack and piston set: About 2 grass per dollar
Enchanted Diamond Pickaxe: About 2 grass per dollar
32 Diamonds: 15 grass per dollar

In this the pig spawners are the best thing to buy, but dont take my word on that as I am unsure of the value.
Im also not saying dont buy any of this stuff, its the safe option when buying items with real life $ but its also the expensive option. Kits and ranks have really good prices, and considering you get your reoccurring kit your gonna get more bang for your buck.

In conclusion, I suggest that the donation shop either reduces their prices or get new items that wont get ruined by street values. Most of these items are 20 times more expensive than their street value (literally) and some even more. This isnt an attack on the server but there would be a lot more buyers if this happened.

The value of items fluctuates so admin would have to adjust these prices a lot. I think that it's a lot of maintenance.

 

As i have been around the server for long enough, I can say that the value of items has decreased as more people have them, more donors are appearing, and people are less stingy with money. Most of the prices seem to be the same from back when i fist donated, but i do see where it may be possible to adjust prices a little. At the same time, running the server is like running a business and the goal is to make some money while supporting the server. Price do fluctuate with demand and availability which could cause some problems, but nothing that a median price wouldn't fix. I think that the prices for diamonds are a bit high right now, but that's all because the price has dropped for diamonds over time. Other than that everything seems to be fine, but then there is also spawners which are normally bought with diamonds... So in theory there may be some flaws to the current prices, but still it is pretty solid as it stands.

 

I get that they dont have to change the prices, the players make up the prices, the aim of a server is to make money and all that stuff but the thing is that its basically useless. Nobody buys from the donation items section because of how overpriced it is compared to street value.
It would be better for the server and for the players if these prices were altered.

Though prices of items change often, so the prices would have to change often. I don't think Noobcrew will do that.

Well... well.. if you talk like this, its better not to have donations like these, and instead, follow MINECRAFT'S FRIKKIN EULA FOR ONCE.

 

The things is, players already do IRL money deals with in-game items anyways...not too many players actually purchase items from the shop; thus I believe that there's no need for changing the prices in the store.Cyp or Crew would do it when they feel like it's necessary.

 

Agreed with everyone here.
I know its Noobcrews or Cyps or whoevers decision, but I am saying that BECAUSE nobody buys from the shop it should be made so that it actually has some use to it.

Yep. It's a good thought and thank you for the suggestion, but like everyone else said, it's up to the admins to decide whether they want to change the prices. Because the economy on here is constantly fluctuating on different levels so it would be hard to determine the EXACT prices for donation items.

But yes...I agree that some of the items are a bit pricey compared to what you can get with donor rank kits in the long run. It would be kind of pointless to put the effort into changing it though. Best to just leave it as is.

 

I agree with most of what you've said.
Even if the prices stayed the same but the quantity of what your buying doubled, that still wouldn't be that great a deal although it'd be a lot better meaning it'd be a lot more useful!

Even with the fluctuation of the economy I highly doubt it will effect the shop at all, just because its so expensive

Too much writing above this post to read, so if its been said before, just ignore this..

The 'Street value' of items change daily. In all the time I have been here I have seen 1 diamond be worth at one point about 15-20 grass, all the way up to at one point 7-8 stacks of grass. Due to this, changing the prices on the donor store would be impractical, and pointless. Give it a month and the prices on the store will be more than worth it.

 

Yes thats sorta been said but with different wording;
Ive been here for around a year and have never seen the price of diamonds move out of the 16-32 grass per dia range but I will take your word for it

If Cyp and/or noob could see this, even if there was no reply itd be great to know theyve considered it

Its a good suggestion.. But I doubt that it'll be implemented. It would be a lot of work seeing as prices fluctuate.
