Removal of this trophy?

The staff member trophy seems a bit unnecessary to me, as staff are already rewarded in various other ways.

My goal is to obtain all of the trophies available on the forums, however the staff member one is impossible in my case.

I find this trophy a bit useless, and I think it wouldn't really be a huge deal if it were to get removed.

But thats just my 2 cents on it. Feel free to elaborate on this.

I think you deserve to get a trophy when you get mod--it's not something everyone can achieve.

 

It's good where it is, no need to take it down.

 

There's really not a point.
I personally don't really care about trophies, it wasn't a huge gain to me, wouldn't be a huge loss.
Neutral I guess.

 

Actually, as someone who comes off as a completionist in games, it bugs me that staff have their own trophy, something that some people cannot obtain or don't want to obtain. It serves no point for bragging right, and we shouldn't be bragging.. we have a purple name and a tag, why do we need a trophy?

 

And why is being here for a year, or two years a goal?
Or even a certain amount of posts?
Or a certain amount of likes?

All of these are things you have to strive to earn, not just lay back and enjoy as they fall onto you.
Getting staff is just as simple as getting a year or two of service on the forums.
It's no different, and doesn't change the fact that it's a trophy, and a goal people want to obtain.

 

It's stupidity to think everyone wants to be staff, it's illogical and not everyone wants to moderate the server.

 

I see no point in taking it away. Becoming mod is an accomplishment to me, and I'd like to be reminded of it. Having a trophy for it is a nice reminder for me.

 

Then clearly they shouldn't be going for all the trophies?
I don't see anything changing on the site due to someones goals being different.
Just like you're asking the site to change, it's going to say you need to change.

It's stupidity to think that because some goals aren't what people want to do should be removed to make their lives easier. But you know, who cares?

 

Give me the same reason to why the trophy needs to stay then.

 

Give me a reason why Democracy needs to stay?
Give me a reason why Cyp should stay admin?

These sorts of things are what you vote and argue against, not for.
You're asking me to do your job.

 

No, I'm asking you to provide a reason to why the trophy serves to stick about, so far all I have is bragging right.

 

And that's your personal opinion on it.
Not everyone assumes it's just a bragging right, as others can say, it's a good reminder of how they worked hard and got accepted.
That's reason enough, not just because one bad apple doesn't want it.

 

There is no need for a staff trophy, if it must stay it should be worth 0 points so non-staff can reach #1 in points.

 

Can't argue with that, sure.

 

I'm completely fine with it being 0 points so I can actually reach #1 in the points rank.

 

It serves as a small recognition of the hard work put in by the staff member, close to getting a "thank you".
No reason why it should not stay, however, how many points it gets awarded is a different story.

 

^^^^^ Getting mod is an amazing thing that I have accomplished, Whether you want it or not. It's still there, and It's an amazing accomplishment. It's not putting you negative, or affecting you. and basically everything Terrick said~
